Feeling something push against her middle in a more forceful wake up than she wanted, Ali frowned a bit in sleep before blinking and trying to get the blurriness out of her vision. When she finally was able to do so she glanced up and was met with an almost unwelcome site. Almost because well Toni was a good a friend of hers....but he also didn't look exactly happy.
An unhappy Toni was never a good Toni, but she tried to not let that little detail deter her too much.
She smiled up at the ruffled Spaniard, only getting a deep frown in return but simply stood up (or tried slipped a little before finally getting up there) wincing at a headache, but that was only to be expected. She hadn't been wasted last night, per se, cause she wanted to make sure the two girls didn't go out and do something stupid (she'd been there) or illegal (also been there), so she'd managed to stay somewhat lucid last night...even if she did end up sleeping on a pizza box...and what was that on her sleeve?
Ew.
"Hey Toni, what's up?" she asked, her tone annoyingly nonchalant as she brushed her hair out of her face.

Antonio, blunt as ever, ignored the casual pleasantries and got straight to the point. He sat down on the sofa and patted the spot next to him for Ali to sit down. She did look a bit unsteady after all.
"Kim said you were the one that brought the alcohol over." He gestured towards the beer cans on the coffee table with a quirked brow. The expression on his face was far from amused. "Is that true?" He knew it most likely was-he was her friend, not an idiot, of course he knew her lifestyle-but he'd like to see for himself before making any accusations.
You're Kimmy's papa~ Not mine :3bel_chocolateAugust 15 2010, 04:31:09 UTC
Taking the invitation to sit, though she sat a little ways away from Toni...safety reasons shrugging and trying to figure out exactly where her ribbon had disappeared to, her hair falling in her face in that annoying way that the ribbon would usually prevent.
"Well yeah. Course I did" she glanced at Remy still lying on the floor and resisted the urge to giggle at the site, poor kid, at least she held her drink a bit better than Kimmy. Out of the three of them, Kimmy probably would come to regret her actions this night more than anyone.
On the bright side she had figured out about that boy that the Asian girl had denied about.
Ali's carefree mood really wasn't helping Antonio's irritability one bit. It wasn't exactly her fault that he had had to work so late, but her impromptu parties certainly weren't easing the stress either.
"I figured as much... You do know that Kim is underage, right?" he asked rhetorically, more to point out the fact than anything else. He followed her line of sight to the mystery girl-Remy, was it? He didn't know her age, but he presumed that she was about as old as Kim.
"Well yeah, but it's not like I took them clubbing or anything. We just did a little drinking game, nothing serious." Ah, there was her bow, Ali leaned forward, taking it from the table, stuffing it in her pocket since it had a few undesirable substances on it and there was no way she was going to put it back in her hair now.
She glanced back at the Spaniard who still looked anything but happy and rolled her eyes about, thinking of her older brother who would give her that same look. When were people going to stop telling her what to do? It wasn't like Kim and Remy were hurt, they were perfectly fine. Maybe they'd have a hangover, but they'd be fine.
"You think laying in a puddle of your own vomit is fine?" Antonio asked incredulously, before taking a shaky breath and raking his fingers through his hair again. Nothing serious. He knew that he was overreacting, knew that Kim and her friend were well above the drinking age back at home, even if they would have to wait until twenty-one in America-but he also knew that if he ever caught his one of his younger siblings drinking, he would slap that bottle right out of their hands.
Kim was like a little sister to him. Why wouldn't he do the same for her?
"Ali..." He tried to find a way to put it into words, to make her see things his way. It was hard. He leaned in closer and gave her a serious look. "Ali, what would you do if you came home and saw Heike drinking? Or better yet, passed out on the floor? Would you relax?"
Backing up a little from Toni who was suddenly in her space and making her feel all sorts of uncomfortable (she was use to little personal space, but when that space closed in on her emotional reactions, that's when she backed out). She frowned deeply, eyebrows knitting together in a confused and annoyed way, finally pulling out of the influence of the drinking enough to actually take things seriously, a feat in and off itself. She pulled her hair out of her face and shifted a bit in place.
"That's completely different." Her tone trying to come off as dismissing but turning slightly cold. Plus she had no doubt in her mind that Heike had been in her brother's brownie stash before so it wasn't an unknown concept.
"How is it different? You care about her well-being, don't you?" Antonio insisted, undeterred by how uncomfortable Ali was beginning to look. Some things just couldn't be brushed off-especially not when they were as important this. Tired and desperate from the late hour, he gave her a pleading look in an appeal to her more emotional side.
"Look, if you want to go out and have fun, I'm not gonna stop you. You're my friend and a full-grown woman at that, and I know you know your own limits, but... well..." His eyes flickered upstairs worriedly, where he knew Kim was laying in bed pale and feverish. It would just be a mild head ache in the morning, sure, but he didn't like seeing anyone like that. Especially not someone that he was supposed to be looking out for. "Kim really can't hold her alcohol, so I'd appreciate it if you didn't do... well, this again. At least don't do right in my own house. Please, Ali?"
Feeling slightly hurt, but choosing not to let it show, Ali put her hands up in defeat, giving a short laugh and slipping back into her 'carefree' mask with the comfort of one who'd done it had done it for many years, "Alright, alright Toni you win. Your house, your rules." She'd mostly been around Toni when he was just out to have a good time (albeit with the likes of a certain frog), and this was a side that she wasn't use to, or was sure if she liked too much.
She glanced around for a moment before making a sound of triumph, finding her keys, "Guess I'll get out of your way then." She grinned at the Spaniard going to pocket her keys to head outside to her waiting car.
Blinking in surprise at her friend, Ali was confused, probably left over sensations of the beer she had only a few hours before that hadn't quite worn off. What was that rule again? Never drink and...dive? Eh whatever, she was lucid enough she'd be fine.
"Well yeah. You don't want me here, right?" Maybe she should've worded that better...opps.
Antonio winced and let go as quickly as he had grabbed her, using the offending hand to rub his neck in embarrassment instead.
"Well- that is to say-" Mierda. Rather than acknowledge her rather blunt remark-it was true, after all-he tried to reason with her, "Listen, I know that I came off kind of..." The right words to describe his behavior evaded him. He really was being eloquent tonight, wasn't he?
"But that doesn't mean that I want you to drive when you're buzzed." He simply held out his hand for the keys and smiled weakly at her, trying not to look as tired as he felt. "Just... let me take you home?"
Hesitating for a short while, trying to gauge Toni's meaning in those short unfinished sentences, Ali gave up and shook her head, a slight headache still remaining, "If you insist." she told the other brightly, taking the keys out of her pocket and dropping them into the other's waiting hand before heading to the door, tripping slightly over the still sleeping Remy.
Putting a hand to the doorknob, Ali paused before turning back to Toni, frowning slightly before finding the words she wanted to say, "I didn't mean to make you mad, I just wanted to have some fun. Sorry." before he could answer, she pulled the door open and stepped outside, breathing in the cold night air.
The thread can end with your response, unless you have something to say in the car?menudo_tomateAugust 16 2010, 04:59:05 UTC
The slight stumble to her step reminded Toni of a very important fact that he had overlooked-well, not so much a fact as a person: Remy, his newest roommate. He glanced anxiously between the mumbling girl and the door before opening it to mutter, "Give me a minute, okay? Or two- just stay here. Please?"
Without waiting for a response he darted back inside and tried to figure out what to do with her. He couldn't leave her on the floor, that much was clear. Feliciano's room was still empty, but he doubted that Remy would be as cooperative as Kim. He stared at her prone form for a long moment with a blank expression-obviously too deep in thought to even twitch a facial muscle-then knelt down to scoop her up into his arms bridal style. She was surprisingly light, but he hadn't expected much in the first place.
It turned out to take longer than his requested minute to carry Remy upstairs, but after some near misses with the handrail and doorway, he managed to get her into bed without a concussion (and no, not like that. Cochinos.) He paused for a moment to catch his breath and looked around the room curiously, noticing that the room wasn't empty after all. Had they already unpacked everything this quickly? He couldn't have been gone for longer than a day...
He quirked his brow and let out a quiet snort, not sure whether to be amused or impressed.
"You've caused quite a bit of trouble on your first day, haven't you?" he mumbled, tossing an extra blanket over her as well just for the sake of thoroughness. Her eyelids twitched, but she didn't wake.
Thankfully, Ali was still downstairs when Antonio staggered outside again. He yanked the door shut behind him and offered her an apologetic smile, trying to calculate in his head how long that had taken him. Math never had been his strong suit.
"W-well," he started a little breathlessly and cleared his throat. "Shall we go?"
Naw~ I think she's good :3bel_chocolateAugust 17 2010, 03:21:00 UTC
Hmm...looks like he missed her apology in favor of helping Remy to bed. Ali considered repeating the apology but shrugged and decided to forget about it. Once was enough for her, even if the person wasn't there to listen, but that's what she got for not paying enough attention to notice that the person she was saying sorry to wasn't even around. She'd blame the beer for now. Yeah, that sounded nice.
Ali grinned up at Toni a little lopsided before stepping outside again, shivering slightly at the cooler outside air, not completely ready for it. "Thanks." she told the other simply.
