after a long, hard journey...

who. Kiku, Hak Soo, and Pochi.
where. The Charleston; Hak Soo's dungeon.
when. July 29th, Thursday morning.
what. Pochi Quest V.

A phone call was all it took to launch Kiku out of bed.

"Are you sure?!" he asked breathlessly, his cell phone mashed between his ear and good shoulder and one foot jammed halfway in a slipper. He waited attentively for a confirmation, his whole body tense and quivering. "...thank you. Yes, I will. Goodbye." The dial tone rang angrily in his ear and he slowly slipped his phone into his back pocket, a slight frown creasing his forehead.

A young woman, with jet black hair and eyes... He didn't like to jump to conclusions, but the more he thought about it, the more obvious it seemed. Who else did he know that was deranged enough to steal a dog?

Without even bothering to change out of the clothes he had fallen asleep in the night before, Kiku snatched up his bottle of painkillers and car keys and stormed out the door. He only paused to struggle with the childproof cap and down a handful of pills, and everything after that was a blur. He was sure that he had broken more than a few traffic laws- perhaps enough to even rival Feliciano's record- but he didn't know how he had ended up inside of the Charleston so quickly. All he knew was that his heart was pounding in quiet outrage, and the fist that he raised to knock on the door was pale and shaking.

knock. knock.

"...Hak Soo...?" he called out quietly, his voice still soft and raspy from sleep. There was no answer. He tried again.

knock. knock.

Something tinkled from the other side, like a small bell, and he heard a soft scratch at the door. His breath caught in his throat.

"Pochi-kun...?" he whispered, crouching down and pressing his ear to the door. It was tense and silent, and then- barking. Barking. A sound that he hadn't heard in so long. He almost cried in relief, but there would be time for that later. Instead, he stood back up and started pounding on the door again, this time more vigorously than before.

KNOCK. KNOCK. KNOCK.

"IM HAK SOO!"

KNOCK. KNOCK. KNOCK. KNOCK.

"Open this door this instant!"
