He felt his lungs fill with air as he took in a deep breath. Running across the field for about the hundredth time, he kicked the black and white ball back and forth between his left and right foot. The target just ahead. A neatly netted goal that was fresh and open. He grinned, skidding to a slight stop as he pulled his right leg back. He exhaled slowly and lashed out kicking the soccer ball with all might. A cocky grin stretched on Luciano's face. His eyes glued on the ball while the stream of sunlight shimmered off the leather. Holding his breath he waited for goal.
The orb flew across a good distance before crashing against the top white metal bar of the goal and ricocheted back. Suddenly the cocky grin faded and brown eyes widened. However before Luciano could move himself out of the way, the ball shot into his bare chest with fury. A loud slap of skin and leather could be heard and the Brazilian let out a howl of pain. "Puta que pariu!" he grunted bitterly in Portuguese watching the ball roll away from him. Mocking him. He glared at it for a moment, not caring about the onlookers questioning his sanity. "Malditos! Pare de andar e entrar no gol!" he scolded the ball walking toward it. "Or do you only understand English?" he asked it, half expecting an answer. He sighed. Brown eyes scanned down to his chest. Red stripes marked him forming a soccer ball pattern on his dark skin. "You realize this means war right?" again he was speaking to the ball.
Using his foot he bouced the ball up onto his knee and began punishment by forcing it every which way with skill. Casually he played with it. Looking over to the side he could see some people starring, other whispering and he only smiled back at them innocently. What? He wasn't doing anything wrong.
