While one Natalia Arlovskaya was very rarely in a mood approaching pleasant when she was not around her dear brother, the unfortunate denizens of Liberty who saw her recently sulking around town could attest to a more ominous than usual energy nipping at her heels and instantly doing away with those unlucky enough to set foot in her path.

Natalia, to say the least, was not in a good mood. And it was all Brother’s doing ( ... )

Technically speaking, and regardless of whatever objections he held, he was a Kirkland. He clung to his mother's name, seething with a disposition that showcased in his change of handwriting when presented any official document, and regretfully placed his legal name second because it was the most it deserved.

But that was beside the point. The point - the beautiful point standing on Arthur's welcome carpet - was that his lovely tea with the robins had turned him into a victim of breaking and entering. But alas - the girl standing on the creaking polished wood floors was an angel, and not the stone one sobbing behind the robins' tree.

The Welshman's teeth shone in the light flowing through Arthur's meticulously clean windows. He displaced his hands in his pockets, and arched back a little at the small of his back to stretch the pinstripes of his trousers to appear a few inches taller.

"Prynhawn Da miss," he greeted with a smile that was utmost charming. "Might I ask the circumstances of your visit?"

Natalia spared the lanky man - who she again affirmed was not Kirkland - one evaluating, top to bottom look, before effortlessly dismissing his question and presence entirely. If he was not Kirkland, he was of no use to her. And if he was not the person who currently owned this house, he mattered even less. But if he was the new owner...then he was just another obstacle to her happiness. One that she would deal with once she settled things with Brother.

But, first things first.

Without another word or look at the man who could soon be on her list of those who would have their final appointment with her, Natalia strode past him into the main hallway. She would both reacquaint herself with this calming place and look for Kirkland at the same time. Natalia always tried to kill two birds with one stone if she could.

Though with a little work, perhaps she could get three birds this time.

"A-ah, miss!" he spindled on his heel so quickly that he nearly went awry into the nearby couch, then teetered over mostly on his right foot to keep up with her pace. "What is the manner of your visit? If you are looking for my brother, then I'm afraid your visit is in vain - he's out."

The Welshman slipped between Natalia's figure and Arthur's skinny hallway to stop her just short of the kitchen. "Well, what I mean to say is... your visit is not entirely in vain. Perhaps I could be of assistance?"
