" Do you have all your things packed?" Long asked, gaining a nod from Kim. " Yes, Mom. Please don't worry, I'm a big girl now." Kim said, smiling. Long sighed, looking at her daughter. " I know, sweetie.... I'm just.... It's going to be odd not eating with you or seeing you come down the stairs in the mornings." she said, smiling back at her.
" I know, Mom. I'll be fine, I promise. And I promise to call you and visit you. And you can visit us, you know that. I'm sure Antonio won't mind."
" I still wish you would've moved in with one of your female friends, like Mei." Long said, brushing some hair from her face. She looked like an older version of Kim, only with a bit shorter hair.
" Mei's not getting out of that house, you know that." Kim said. She knew that was true, Mei's family would never let her move out. At least not yet.
" When is your friend coming?" Long asked. " I'm glad I at least get to meet him and see who you will be living with."
" Oh, he should be here any minute now."
