It had been quite a while since Zhi last set foot in Liberty. No thanks at all to a certain pair of parents, of course. What was originally meant to be just a simple Christmas holiday in China turned into a New Year's celebration which turned into a Chinese New Year reunion which turned into an attempt at enrolling him in a local Chinese school which somehow turned into an attempt at getting him a girlfriend which ended up in an argument involving firecrackers which finally lead to Zhi coming back home. On a red-eye flight, no less, but he wasn't going to complain.
Though really, now that the jetlag was beginning to kick in, a more conveniently-timed flight would have been much better. Biting back a complaint to himself, he dragged his suitcase hurriedly after another person through the doors of the apartment complex before they could close on him because digging out his keys would have been far too troublesome. The short lift ride didn't take very long and soon Zhi found himself facing the door of Charleston 4B. He also found himself faced with the realisation that he had left his keys with his parents and didn't actually have them with him.
"...有没搞错啊。"
Zhi pulled out his phone, only to find out that it had conveniently run out of battery. 我的天。His only option appeared to be to ring the doorbell and hope that someone was at home, and so he did, all the while trying not to glare daggers at the door. It was the one thing between him and his bed, and as he was tired, stressed out and coping with a time difference of thirteen hours, the bed was the only thing in the world he wanted at this moment. Yawning, he leaned against the door as he waited, which, had he been in a less sleep-deprived state, probably wouldn't have seemed to be such a good idea.
