Sometimes Tino is so gay without even realizing it. find_a_fin March 7 2010, 12:43:01 UTC
Okay, he admitted it. He hadn't been exactly the best roommate for the last month, but in a way Tino wanted to blame at least some of it on his boss and some of it on the Finnish hockey team and their painful playing in those two games. He was only now really starting to recover from the hangover after those two weeks of being drunk every day during the Vancouver hockey games. I really hope Berwald will want to join me when I go out...

Putting the money back in his wallet after counting it, Tino inhaled deeply and closed his eyes. This is the payment for everything I made him go through this February (like ignoring him, snapping at him few times, not doing my part of keeping the house clean, drinking constantly, asking him to take Flower-Egg out while a game was on, forgetting to go to the store and even throwing a punch at him at the end of the Sweden-Finland game). It doesn't cover even half of it, Tino, so don't whine because you lose some money. Opening his eyes and looking determined, Tino stuffed the wallet in his pocket and ( ... )

Berwald had once again lapsed into thinking about planks and bathroom tiles and whether the floor in the kitchen of the ne...other house would do better with the original floor or if it needed warming, all the while staring at the mostly empty fridge. When Tino spoke, he almost jumped in surprise, and then gave the Finn a wary look.

However, he looked his usual self, to Berwald's great relief. Or, in any case, his usual self when not stressed out or drunk or inexplicably angry over sports. Or all of the above at once, in the worst case. Not that Berwald had been afraid, because even thought Tino was stronger than he looked, he was still somewhat smaller than Berwald, and he hadn't entirely forgotten how to block a punch aimed at him. Even if he hadn't quite been expecting needing that skill right then ( ... )

Looking down at his feet nervously, Tino rubbed the back of his neck and stuttered something incomprehensible before looking up at the Swede, looking determined again. "I want to apologize for the past weeks, will you go out with me?" He stared at the ohter man and was happy to see the other was indeed dressed well like always, this time he had a dark blue dress shirt with vertical thin black stripes and straight beige trousers.

Tino didn't think he could recall the Swede getting really angry at him even once (he just looked like he was angry all the time, but then again he couldn't possibly be angry with him all the time, so Tino had come to the conclusion those were his normal expressions), but he imagined that maybe he was just good at keeping it in and making compromises.

But he must've been angry at me last month... I really wish he would've said, maybe I wouldn't have been like that then. But now I'll try to make up for it! He stood in the doorway and changed his weight from one foot to another, waiting for an answer and ( ... )

Berwald gave him a considering look, noting how uneasy Tino seemed. How was it that when he wasn't being...difficult, he was so often nervous in Berwald's company? Of course, they had had the occasional peaceful moments too, and those were very pleasant indeed. This time, Berwald was almost ready to think that Tino had some reason to feel awkward.

But...that didn't mean he actually enjoyed seeing him like that, of course.
Berwald closed the fridge door with a small sigh, trying to let the last of his annoyment towards him roommate flow away with it.

Then he turned towards him resolutely, and nodded.
"'s fine. Ya had a rough time...an' that's..." his brain caught up to what exactly Tino had said after the apology, and Berwald swallowed, concentrating on not blushing. Tino hadn't meant it like that. No. "--fine too," he mumbled in a low voice.

And on the background we could hear Erasure's "Always" playing. find_a_fin March 13 2010, 20:23:06 UTC
Tino looked around, chewing his lip. Luckily it looked like today the place was cramped, so the butler's and waiters and waitresses had a lot to do, so they hadn't even visited their table yet after they had arrived. Maybe they wouldn't notice if they just... sneak out and go unnoticed? Or more like try to walk out as smoothly as possible without attracting attention to themselves.

"Maybe..," Tino said hesitantly, "...Maybe we should just... go?" He looked at his friend like a partner in crime. "They won't notice it. And yes, we'll have to visit the shop first, I don't think we have much food at home right now, if I remember correctly..." He paused for a moment, thinking, before returning back to the present and looking at the Swede. "I'll count to three and let's stand up."

For some strange reason, Tino's heart was beating fast, as if they were doing something forbidden and not just being kind of rude, but it helped him forget his former anxiousness.

They went, Berwald rather inadvertedly scaring away one unfortunate waiter who'd been on the way to ask them if everything was alright and whether they'd like to order ( ... )

The store visit and the following busride had sure been slightly more eventful than usual, and after they had finally gotten off the bus together and walked the short distance to the Centralia Apartments, Tino sighed almost contently.

They were home.

As they walked up the stairs, Tino carrying a large watermelon and a bag of other groceries and Berwald carrying another two bags behind him, Tino was glad they had decided to go home. It was so much easier to be normal this way. Turning to glance behind his back. "Ah, Berwald, could you take the key from my pocket? I have this melon and I'm afraid I'd drop it if I tried to reach for it, and I don't want to drop it again..."

He smiled apologetically at the Swede and moved closer, motioning towards his trouser pocket with his head.

Unknowingly, Berwald was mirroring Tino's thought almost exavtly at that moment. He still wasn't sure how to tell Tino about the house, but at least they'd be in a familiar setting. It might actually help. A fancy restaurant might be a good place to spring up surprises in movies...mostly American movies, when he thought about it. Which explained a lot, actually. In any case, Berwald referred a quiet night at home to that any day ( ... )
