WHO: Emiliana and John Paul Key WHEN: Thursday afternoon WHERE: A cute little mom and pop cafe in the center of town WHAT: "Now let me peer into your soul..." RATING: A for Anything goes
Emiliana's only class of the day had, for some strange, gone nearly ten minutes over. Now, as she absently adjusted the bag strap slipping down her shoulder, she was hurrying down the street toward what she hoped was the right cafe. Glancing down at the small piece of paper in her hand with its messily written directions, her brow furrowed. She'd never heard of it. So hopefully she was going in the right-
Ah! Skidding to a halt, Emiliana noticed that she had almost walked past the small, but surprisingly cute, cafe. Flipping her phone open, she was relieved to notice that she was time. Gracias a Dios. Now she just had to pray that she hadn't agreed to meet up with some creepy pervert. Well, at least she could break a nose or two in self-defense if it turned out to be true. Phone now away, Emiliana tucked a piece of stray hair behind her ear and cautiously entered the cafe, looking around.
After a moment or two, she spotted someone (were those tattoos-?!) sitting alone. Moving forward, Emiliana

There came an awkward silence during which the inquiry fell flatly into the abyss of 'did he hear it or not' before the gentleman snapped an intent inspection of the menu onto Emiliana, slender lines swirling with the shift of his expression from curious to perplexed to immediate recognition and embarrassment. The chair scraped out then a large hand was reaching for hers to accompany the broad grin that suffused his features with cheer. "The one and only, Miss De León, yes? A pleasure! Please-"
John executed a flourishing gesture at the chair he'd been lounging in a moment prior. "Have a seat. Can I interest you in a cuppa anything?"
Nodding in bemusement, Emiliana shook his hand with a small grin. "Emiliana, yes. It's nice to meet-ah, thank you," she replied as she sat down, her bag settling onto the ground beside her. A drink? Glancing at the menu, she paused for a brief moment. "Some apple tea would be nice," she said while reaching down to dig for her wallet. How much as it? Two, three dollars? She had to have some spare change in her, surprisingly not empty for once, wallet.
Glancing up at the man, she quirked an eyebrow in question. "Have you ordered yet?"
The inquiry resulted in a loud, pleasant guffaw and John shook his head bemusedly, leaning against the table with an absent minded look back at the cafe's modest little list of offerings. "Not yet, not yet. Not really sure what I'm up for, you know?" He tapped his chin thoughtfully, casting another smile in her direction. "We can start the interview any time your ready, by the way. If you'd like to order first and spin a yarn after, well, that's fine too."
