WHO: Yong and Kiku
WHERE: Yong's house.
WHEN: Around 6 PM on a Sunday night.
WHAT: National pride, gay pride, and figure skating.
Kiku paced apprehensively towards Yong's door. Ordinarily he would go to anyone else, but he was pretty sure Yong would be the only one who had a working rice cooker to spare. Other than Yao (who was apparently back now), and Kiku had no intention of asking a favor from him. Shaking his head, to rid his mind of such terrible thoughts, Kiku arrived at the entryway and knocked softly.
Half a minute went by and there was no response, but Kiku could see lights on shining out from underneath the door. He pushed at the door hesitantly and to his surprise it opened. It was as if Yong didn't care if he was robbed. For a moment, Kiku thought of just taking the rice cooker and running, but he knew it would wrong not to ask first. His mother would have a heart attack if her son turned out to be a thief. He would dishonor his whole family. No, he would just have to ask.
"Yong?" he called out hesitantly as he stepped over piles of dirty laundry and bowls of half-eaten food. "Yong, what are you doing? It obviously is not cleaning... I need to make a request and then I will leave. Let us make this as brief as possible."
Kiku was feeling more and more uncomfortable by the second. What had Yong gotten himself into to let his apartment fall into such a state?
It was then that he noticed the TV screen flickering. Looking over he saw a dark haired woman in ice skates paused on the screen. She was skating out onto a rink under an Olympic banner.
It was just like Yong to get caught up in such a thing.
