Seeing A Pink Elephant?

Dec 11, 2005 13:16

This is one of my very favorite glass ornaments. Sorry if I've shown this to you last year..
As you can see, it's a tiny frosted pink elephant holding a champagne glass (there's glitter in the glass). You know? I have a question--- How come champagne glasses use to be shaped like that- all flat and wide? and now they are tall and skinny? I remember when I was a kid, my Mom used to serve champagne in those wide ones. I also remember seeing the grownups take their first sip BUT most of it would slosh out onto their chests. It's not the easiest glass to Cheers with either! Anyway...

Last night after coming home from another long shopping venture, I found out that our toilet flooded the back hallway again. Every year we have sewer problems, (tree roots+ old house) But we haven't had a flooding for about 4 years WAH!!! Not what I needed a couple weeks before Christmas.

Here's the aftermath...see those stacked pictures at the end of the hallway? Ya quite a few of those got ruined also--well their mats, art was ok. We had them stacked up against the wall. The wall-to-wall carpeting was was ruined a long time ago. I had some oriental rugs in here that got yukie wet & pretty much ruined. They are drying outside (kinda) What a drag.

(Kip promised me he would ceramic tile the floor instead of putting more carpet there...but that was 4 years ago. We go round and round over that hallway...I continually ask him to just to let me hire a handman to do it, but he always says
NO. ((wah)) Someday I will just have it done while he's away on a business trip :)---Then before he comes home, I will take a trip lol!!!

Well, I better start this casserole thing I wanted to try out---then hang my outside Christmas lights while the weather is still nice!

I go back to work tomorrow...and I'm sure it will be a very LONG day...
