Hello all....
Well, I am trying to get my Christmas cards all printed & trimed up so I can take them on my trip to address, but I am running into "rotary blade" problems.
I just went to my local office supply store and bought what I thought was the right type...but alas, ((it's snot)) So the blade I DO have that works, is a wavy line blade, so that's what I am using.
Now my cards look REALLY homemade...kinda like cutting pictures out with pinking sheers! Oh well, it's the thought that counts, and who knows, maybe the pinking shear edge look will bring back ((nostalgic memories of your Grammie's homemade things)) or something?
Well, I got a really cute Christmas card from my friend Patti the other day ((ty P) and today we got our traditional yearly calendar from the dentist. Boy, they kept calling me (the dentist) all summer to say I was late on coming in for my cleaning. I would call them back and explain why...but they would never make a note of it in my folder, so I kept getting the call. I finally said I was changing dentists....that I was tired of being bothered every other couple weeks. ((well, that made them back peddle)) so I think I won't be hearing from them again.
I haven't decorated
my tree yet. It's still sitting on the back patio. It will prolly stay there until I get home from my vacation. Its the first year in 23 years I dont have my tree up by the first weekend of Dec. ((Oh well)) starting new traditions I guess. I did get my outside lights put up though. This year they are all blue :) I couldn't get a good picture of them.
Wanna see what happens when you giggle the camera? I love it!
I am getting ready for my trip to the coast. Only 3 more days :) I get all excited to go someplace, but I always get homesick and worry about my animals etc the first couple of nights...after that I am ok though. It's just my personality I guess. I will bring my pillow, and that usually helps with the homesick feeling (geez, I am a big baby)
Also, I was thinking....after all the stuff I went through this summer (and how scary it all was to think about) you know, your mortality etc. I just kinda was thinking ...I hope I have more years to come to see the coast...I mean a BUNCH more times! I know that sounds kinda weird, but it's stuff you think about when you go through what I did. Ok stopping that talk...
So...what else...Well, I am bringing my laptop with me and camera of course, so I plan to blog and post pictures etc. while I am there. I think the weather is suppose to be kinda poopie the first few days, so I think we will be "rental house bound" for a bit. I just hope we have a FEW clear days so we can see the ocean.
I am bringing my art supplies with me as I said before, and also some beading things. Little does my Mom know I will be forcing her to art and bead with me ;)
I am thinking of things I can fix for dinner. OH! and I really want to get some fresh crabs to have one night...with some crusty garlic bread and a really nice bottle of white wine...((or champagne)) and then I want go out to dinner a couple nights. There's a place about 8 miles away where we are staying, in the town of Occidental, CA and its this old family Italian restaurant called Danucci's. My family used to go there a lot...and it was my Dad's favorite.
This photo was from a couple years ago when we stayed at another beach house in Bodega Bay...I made Joe's World Famous Crock of Spag ;)
http://www.rasehallstudios.com/blog/archives/000632.html Well, I guess I will get back to cutting these Xmas cards out. So see you all tomorrow or the next day. Bye!
