Happy Womans Flickr

Nov 16, 2006 07:14

Yesterday, I finally had a chance to get started uploading some pictures to my NEW Flickr account. I changed my screen name from "Femme Heureuse" (which meant Happy Woman in French) to just be "Happy Woman." I thought it would be a lot easier for people to remember ;)

I will have many more art related type categories---but for now, I am starting with flowers and stuff, just to get use to how things work. I thought it would be kinda fun to have grouping of photo's that are all a particular color...so I have started that with flower sets called; Pink Flowers, Purple Flowers etc. but who knows I might change that. It's really fun to do.

Anyway, so what else...Oh! My friend Valerie asked if I still had and comfy cotton hats around that I might want to donate to a place called FreeCycle. http://www.freecycle.org/ I said YES! and gave her a big shopping bag full of them (now that I am done with them for the most part) Anyway, she sent me this email from the gal she donated them too (they were for her Mother) I thought I'd share it (hope that's ok Val?)

"I told Vicki that I picked up an entire shopping bag of hats for her mother
and she burst into tears. She was so overwhelmed at your kindness for
getting the hats from your friend and passing them on to me, so she and I
can pass them on to her mom. She has heard me mention Freecycle from time
to time, but it really hadn't registered yet, she just hadn't "gotten it,"
how this big internet community of people can and does help each other. She
asked me, "But how? But where? But who?" and once I explained, she was
overcome and burst into tears that someone who had never met her or her
mother, someone who had never even met ME before, would go to the trouble of
doing what you and your friend have done to help make her mother more
comfortable.

I smiled and told her we were all just sharing the love. So thank you to
you and your friend for spreading that love around."

Neat egh?? ((Kris P. did you read that?)) ---since most of the hat's were the ones you made for me with the cotton fabric I picked out. I hope you feel ok about me doing that? I'm sure you do. :)

Well, That's it for now.
see ya!
