Hi all!
I had a great birthday dinner Friday night with friends! We went to a Family Style-Southern Italian Restaurant called Buca di Beppo. The food was great---but the company was the BEST PART! Everyone really cheered me up. I was kinda in a depressed mood since earlier in the day I had my Doc. appt. and whenever I get out of her office I alway feel kinda down and worried...you know...the reality of it all comes sinking back in. :(
Anyway, on with my dinner :) There were 11 of us and we were seated upstairs where they do all the larger parties of people. In fact there were maybe 5 tables of people (all celebrating birthdays.) Every so often the whole room would sing HBD to that person....and the waitress brings over a big ol' gaudy candelabra of candles for the BD person to blow out.
Here's a picture of my presents! Geez, I scored HUH? I opened all my gifts before my actual birthday...how bad is that? (Not in the picture are the things Kip gave me...Which were a 100 pack of Gel Pens, a full set of my Epson printer inks and some yummy
Opium Perfume Oil Spray. ! :)
Do you see something kinda familiar in that picture?
(((THIS))) I also got a couple gift certificates :) one from Trader Joes and the other for the Fish Store I love going to so much...a wonderful bottle of red wine from J & G...and I also got this cool room diffuser
check it out My prior boss gave me a "
Van Gogh Action Figure Doll" -TY Janet---you bing bong ;)
This morning at 9am, a girlfriend that I work with (Clemence) called me all the way from France to wish me a Happy Birthday! How cool was that!? She's there to attend a few work related events as well as see her family. Thank you Annie for your beautiful Tulip card! (You could have written your note on it silly, instead of using a separate sheet of paper.)
K, other stuff:
We finally got around to hanging the big painting by William T. Anderson that had been hanging behind my Dad's desk at his office. It's been propped up in our livingroom for 3 weeks...and I was getting tired of trying to clean around it! Plus the weather is getting colder and I want to start having some nice fires in the fireplace again. Having this monster covering up the fireplace just wasn't cutting it.
I think it looks great. (Even though I haven't taken a new picture of how it looks on the wall yet)
This was Kip's painting of the "Mountain Climber" (below) that we have had hanging for geez 15 years or more? We liked it also...but I think were both kinda ready for a change.
Well, I guess I will start my day!
Later I will be going out to see my Mom...poor thing, she got stung on the face under her eye by a wasp on Tuesday. :( She's better now, but was in a lot of pain most the week. I am taking over the casserole that is listed at the side of my blog...the Wild Rice and Chicken one....OR: I might make this Potato/Corn Chowder soup that Joe made last night and said was REALLY good!
