In a couple months I get to do my job from home. I am 1 of 7 people chosen (out of hundreds) for a pilot program. I won't be going back to the office except for meetings. Ever. This reality hasn't hit me yet. I've been going to the same building for 25 years. I'm curious as to how my perspective will change.
My commute time will go from 16 miles down to 5 steps. No more fighting I-5 traffic into Portland. If you know the area, you know what a headache that is.
I'm really excited, this will be a great change. I'm not worried about isolation. I'm already too busy to notice how many people are around me at the office. That busy level won't change at home. I have the perfect room for my office, It has two windows. That's so important.
It will be just me, my cat's and music playing softly in the background. Heaven.
