When Kazuya heard a faint “Help…” across the hallway, his heart stopped beating for a second. He thought, “This can’t be good…” and started running towards the source of the sound.

When Kazuya turned around a corner, he saw Jin and Ryo, both on the ground.

Jin was in Ryo’s arms, and Ryo was breathing air into Jin.

Kazuya was mad at first, but then he realized things couldn’t be as simple as what he thought, because somewhere in his mind, his common sense was still there.

He still remembered the faint call of help earlier, which means Jin is in trouble. He recalled last night’s incident, where Jin was still wet from head to toe when he was outside his door.

In a split second, Kazuya rushed to where Ryo and Jin was, and pushed Ryo away from his brother.

“JIN!” Kazuya understood immediately what the situation was, and searched for Jin’s puffer. Panicking, Kazuya realized that Jin didn’t bring his puffer with him, as always.

“What are you doing? He’s dying! Don’t just sit there!” Seeing as Kazuya couldn’t help at all, Ryo tried to push Kazuya out of the way, but Kazuya didn’t budge at all.

In a split second, Kazuya picked Jin up, and shouted at Ryo, “Call the teachers and nurses, I’m taking Jin to the hospital!”

Ryo had no choice but to follow Kazuya’s orders, and ran the opposite direction of where Kazuya was running.

Somehow, at that moment, Ryo wished that he could be the one beside Jin.

“…The patient will be fine with a few days of rest. His trachea wasn’t working properly, and was swollen due to his fever. We used medication to treat that already, so the patient’s trachea should be working normally. Also, the patient should always carry his puffer with him, in case of emergency. An asthma patient should always be taken care of immediately when they are sick, because sicknesses like fever could seriously affect their health.” The doctor finished his long speech, and left.

“Thanks doctor…” Kazuya nodded at the doctor, but his eyes never let his brother.

“Jin… what should I do with you?” Kazuya reached his hand out and held onto his brother’s.

When he recall today’s incident, when he saw Ryo giving Jin CPR, his heart would ache and his mind be hurt. He knew Ryo was just trying to save his brother’s life, but he still couldn’t help but be jealous and mad.

He looked at Jin, his brother. Jin has always looked so perfect in Kazuya’s eyes. Ever since he can remember, Kazuya has been attracted to Jin. Jin has this amazing presence that is so undeniable and great, Kazuya felt like Jin was just an intangible object that is forever out of his reach. His innocence and mind is so pure, that it makes everyone want to protect Jin from anything that would disturb this innocence, and Kazuya was no exception. Kazuya has been protecting Jin for as long as he could remember. Even though Jin was his older brother, he was seen as the most childish and cherished youngest brother in the household.

“Mmmm…” the sound of Jin waking up bought Kazuya back from his train of thoughts.

“Jin…?” Kazuya helped to support Jin as his brother was trying to sit up.

“Kazuya…? What… Where am I?” Jin asked as he pressed his hand against his forehead, trying to compress all the pain back inside his body.

“You’re at the hospital, don’t you remember anything?”  Somehow, Kazuya had hoped that Jin wouldn’t remember anything at all, and let Jin and him be the way they were before.

“Not really… I remember going to school and feeling a burning in my head… and then I was in class… Then someone dragged me out of the classroom…” Jin continued as he pressed his hand on his throat. “Then I couldn’t breathe at all, and it felt so… suffocating… but someone was… was… giving me… CPR…” Jin’s face turned crimson as he slowly remembered today’s incidents.

Then, neither of them said anything for a while, until Jin decided to change the topic.

“Kazuya…” Jin asked as he grabbed onto Kazuya’s sleeve.

“Hmm?” Kazuya questioned.

“Kazuya… are you still mad at me? If you are, I’m sorry. I won’t ever make you mad again. Please don’t stay mad at me, I can’t take it. I can’t stand not being able to talk to you…” Jin’s voice slowly turned into sobs as he confessed.

Somehow, a warm feeling was lit up in Kazuya’s heart, and that felt good. He smiled, and patted on Jin’s head.

“I wasn’t mad at you, but I am now.” Kazuya pretended to be angry, and Jin believed him.

“Why didn’t you carry your puffer with you today?” Kazuya crossed his arms in front of his chest and asked.

“I-… I forgot… Besides, it was just today that I got an asthma attack, I would be fine at any other day…” Jin pouted and played with his fingers.

Sighing, Kazuya shook his head and held onto Jin’s hand again.

“Just remember to bring your puffer with you all the time. I was so worried about you today.” Kazuya leaned in and kissed Jin on the forehead.

Just when Jin was about to say something, five people were trying to burst into the room, but Hideaki succeeded first, and jumped onto the bed where Jin lied on.

“JIN HONEY!!!!” Hideaki screamed as he pulled Jin into his bear hug. “Oh my god! I was so worried! Are you okay?” Hideaki exclaimed as he put Jin on display, and let his eyes dance everywhere on Jin, checking for any bruises or scratches.

“Relax, Hideaki! You’re scaring him!” Koki said as he tried to pull Hideaki off of Jin.

“Jin, are you okay?” Yuichi and Tatsuya asked worriedly as they sat on the opposite side of the bed where Kazuya was.

“I’m fine, don’t worry.” Jin gave his older brothers an I’m-fine-so-don’t-worry smile.

While Junno and Koki were battling Hideaki to get off of Jin, the Domoto brothers came in.

“Hey.” Koichi greeted the family as he and his brothers squished into the hospital room.

“Koichi! Hi!” Hideaki got rid of his two brothers, and jumped in front of his friend.

“What brings you here?” Hideaki asked.

“I heard from Ryo that Jin was in a little trouble today and had to go to the hospital. So I decided to come here and visit.” Koichi smiled at Jin and nodded at the rest of the Takizawa brothers.

“Oh yea, I have you thank Ryo for saving my brother!” Hideaki jumped in front of Ryo and gave him one of his famous bear hugs.

“If it wasn’t for you today, I don’t know how Jinjin would have survived.” Hideaki said gracefully.

“Uh… no problem…” Ryo’s train of thoughts were disturbed by Hideaki’s suffocating hug.

Ryo was forced to stay at school until the school day was over, and he simply couldn’t wait that long. He didn’t know why, but he wanted to be the one at Jin’s side at that moment. He had never felt so worried and helpless before, not even for his brothers.

When Ryo first stepped in the hospital room, when he saw Kazuya holding onto Jin’s hand and kissing his forehead, he felt so… painful. It was as if someone was clutching onto his heart, and crushing it into million of pieces.

At that moment, Ryo had decided. As if his feelings were confirmed, and accepted, Ryo decided on something.

After four days, Jin was finally released from the “clutches of the hospital”, as Jin defined. Hideaki decided to have a celebration party at their house, and invited the Domoto brothers to join. The party was partly because of Jin’s recover, and partly because the Domoto brothers moved to Tokyo.

Of the past four days at school, the Domoto brothers and Takizawa brothers knew each other better, and some of them actually became friends. While some became friends, some just didn’t hate each other as much, and they got along okay. They greeted each other when they see the other in the school hallway, and made little conversations also. All of them got along except for Ryo and Kazuya.

It was Friday, and the two families got together at the Hideaki household and set up for the party after school.

They got chips and dip and fruits and beer and cake, because Jin likes cakes.

When the party started, conversations came alive, laughter and screams of joy can be heard everywhere in the house also.

When Ryo saw that Kazuya had gone to the bathroom, he came up to Jin. Ryo made sure that he would have a few minutes alone with Jin before, so that he could finish whatever he had to say to Jin.

“Hey.” Ryo walked up to Jin.

“Um, hi.” Taken by surprise, Jin greeted the boy in front of him.

“Mind if we talk for a bit?” Ryo tried to talk as politely as he could.

“Sure…” Jin agreed, and let Ryo drag him to the balcony.

When they reached the balcony of the house, Jin decided to start off the conversation first.

“Um, I heard that you were the one who saved me… thank you so much… I don’t how I would have been if you weren’t there, and I’m so sorry for pranking you the first time I saw you.” Jin bent down and apologized.

“Oh, um… It’s okay, don’t worry about it.” Ryo was taken in by surprise when Jin apologized, but recovered to his normal face as he pulled Jin back up face to face.

“Can I call you Jin?” Ryo asked as he set his eyes on Jin’s beautiful face.

“Sure! I’ll call you Ryo-chan… can I?” Jin smiled cheerfully.

“Of-of course!” Ryo stuttered, but continued.

“Um, I’ve been thinking about you for the past few days, and I’ve come to a conclusion.” Ryo shifted his face to the side to hide his blush.

“Thinking about me?” Jin asked as he tilted his head cutely.

When Ryo saw that action, he thought, “Oh my god, does he have to be that cute?”

Ryo pulled Jin into his embrace, and wrapped his arms around Jin’s waist.

Jin was dumbfounded, but to his surprise, he didn’t hate Ryo’s embrace. He actually liked the warm feeling that was building up in his heart when he was trapped in Ryo’s embrace.

“I like you, a lot. I know we’ve only met for a few days, but I know deep in my heart that I like you. I’ve never felt anything like this before. My heart would ache when I see you close to other people, and my heart will beat faster and faster whenever I would think about you.” Ryo was never good with expressing how he feels, and those words that came out of his mouth was his best effort already. His effort to try to express his feelings to Jin was the biggest step Ryo was willing to take.

“I… I don’t know what to say… I mean I like you, but I like a lot of people too. I like Hideaki, Koki, Junno, Tatsuya, Yuichi and Kazuya too.” Jin said as he placed his head on Ryo’s chest.

When Ryo heard Kazuya’s name, his arms around Jin’s waist tightened.

“That’s that the type of like I meant. I like you as in wanting to be with you, in a romantic way. Not brotherly or friendly love.” Ryo explained as he loosened the embrace between himself and Jin.

Ryo kept Jin in an arm’s length, so he could look at Jin’s confused look as his face became crimson.

Ryo then leaned in, and kissed Jin in the corner of his right eye. “Do you get what I mean now?”

Jin’s face became more of an apple red right now, and nodded.

Ryo chuckled at the beautiful scene in front of him, and said, “You don’t have to answer me right now. I’ll give you time to think about it, and time to get to know me. I just wanted you to know how I feel about you. Remember, I’ll always, always wait for you to return my feelings.” Ryo leaned in and kissed Jin on the forehead, and left the balcony.

Jin’s heart was beating so fast, he felt like fainting. The surroundings became blurry, and the kiss mark on his forehead and the corner of his right eye was burning on his face. The warm feeling that was building up felt so right and comfortable to Jin, and he liked that feeling.

When Ryo was out of sight, Jin couldn’t take it anymore, and kneeled on the ground, and started panting. He covered his burning red face with his hands, trying to hide is blush.

Everything was happening so fast, and Jin was so surprised. He felt like as if Ryo was right for him, because no one had ever made him feel so warm inside except for what Ryo just did.

Jin caressed the parts of his face where Ryo had kissed, and the blush on his face became more crimson as the seconds past.

*     *     *     *     *

On the other side, Kazuya stood silently by the balcony door.

He had never felt so helpless before, as if he already lost Jin to Ryo already, as if Jin was gone and out of his reach. He didn’t like this feeling. He felt as though his heart was thrown to the ground from a hundred feet high above the air, and no one was below to catch his heart, letting his heart shatter into a million of unfixable pieces.

A tear slipped out of Kazuya’s left eye, but he quickly wiped it away before anyone sees.

Ryo acts fast ne? I just wanted the story to develop faster, because if you think that Ryo and Jin are going to end up together with peace and quie, then you're wrong! Even without Kame, there are still troubles ahead =P
