I really don't want Toby, my new dog. I gave him to my mom, but she's not taking care of him at all so I ended up taking care of him anyway. I'm seriously thinking about talking my mom into dropping him off at the Humane Society

I say do like Teresa said and set a date. If you don't like him by then, then you should give him back. But if you feel like you just really don't like him, it isn't fair to him to have to stay in a home where he isn't really wanted. I hope that doesn't come out sounding bad, its just that he may be better off in a home with people that actually do like him and enjoy his presence, ya know?
Are you going to get another dog? If you are, maybe you should try getting an older dog, like 5 years or older. Toby is a bit young, practically still in his puppy stages, which is why he is so playful and active. All young dogs behave like him. Also, try looking more at Toby's personality (or if you get another dog, its personality) rather than its looks. An animal can be the cutest on the planet, but have the worst personality ever, and the same applies in reverse. Like for me, I don't think Zeke is very pretty or cute looking, he is a boring solid black color, with typical gold eyes. But my little kitty has the most amazing personality I have ever seen in a cat. And if I could trade his personality for good looks, I wouldn't because I love him just the way he is.
I say set that date, give it a little while, and just really think about it. Then you will certainly know! Good luck!! =D
Nope, I don't plan to try to get another dog if it doesn't work out with Toby. I agree that Toby should have a home that loves him.
I don't remember Locker being that energetic when she was younger. I know they claimed that she was six or something when we got her, but I think they overestimated her age. If she was the age they said that she was then that means that she died at the age of 20, or something. That doesn't seem right to me.
I like the way black cats look though. It's true that all black cats look similar, but they look both pretty and similar.
It varies from dog to dog, but generally about 70% behave like Toby. My dogs and Locker were likely in that 30%. Usually that 70% needs obedience training to teach them boundaries. I have had a lot of experience with young dogs, from what I have seen, usually males tend to be a lot more playful. Toby is a little rowdy boy lol =P When Crystal and I went over to your place, I thought he was really cute when I saw him, but I'm used to really playful animals. He was actually a lot calmer, and less playful than Zeke believe it or not haha.
I don't think that Zeke is ugly, just kind of mediocre compared to other cats. But his attitude is what I love about him: he is crazy, funny, and very smart, so I could care less what he looks like. I guess the point I was trying to make was that you shouldn't judge Toby based on his looks, because he can't help it if he doesn't look cute. I was just saying that you should try looking past his outward appearance, and look at who he is as a little dog. Is he funny, nice, cuddly, does he have annoying habits, mean, boring? Look at who he is, not what he is. Like me, I'm obviously no supermodel haha, but we are really good friends because I'm sure there is something about me that you like in my personality! You wouldn't dump me as a friend because I'm not very pretty, right? If you look at him and say, I just don't like his personality, then you can know off the bat that he isn't the dog for you. But I know that whatever decision you will make, it will be the right one =D!
Nee~ee~ Zeke is like totally adorable in both looks and personality~! He is a solid black color, but that is like beautiful and like classic~! Solid color cats are like gorgeous~<3 I want a solid black cat and/or white, along with a Ragdoll cat that looks like Snowy.
I loooove my Zeke so muuuuuch~ ^^! I actually think his solid coloring is kind of cool, I call him my little panther haha. But there are a lot of American Shorthair, black fur/gold eyes, it is a really common coloring, kind of like the tabby color is popular. I love him so much though, especially because of how funny he is. He is so playful and smart lol! One morning he wanted to play so bad, and I was still asleep. When I woke up, all ten of his toys were in the bed with me, and he was fast asleep at the end of the bed with a toy in his mouth. He is just so funny XD I love my little guy so much, I would be so devastated without him. Actually, this week Zeke isn't with me at the apartment. It feels so empty without him. I miss him already and it has only been a few hours since I gave him that goodbye hug =( . I need my little Zekeachu, he is my sunshine, without him my sky is grey =( ;_;
