Yesterday was two days at once. It was the fifth anniversary of Charlie's death and the birthday of the esteemed former roomie, ziactrice. Luckily she's a good sport and we were able to celebrate both occasions in a fitting manner

Also, dang, the Spouse and I haven't been to Van Loc in over a year. We should fix that sometime.

It was good. I used to eat there back in the late 80s and it's nice to see the place is still turning out tasty food. Zia's Chinese entree was okay but the Vietnamese dishes are definitely their strength IMO.

And thanks for the thumbs up. It felt appropriate to me, and I figure even presents for the dead should take their likes and dislikes into account.

A nice tribute to Charlie - we have done the same on occasion. I agree, their likes and dislikes should be considered.
