Reply and I'll give you four fandoms. You then have to make an entry writing about your favorite character from each fandom, and why.

BarryRunner-up: Dawn
Barry is extremely impatient, hyperactive, and a tad hard-headed; however, these seemingly negative traits are what makes him my favorite character in the entire Pokeverse. He's a pretty amusing guy who's antics play a big role in making the D&P games, as well as the anime pretty enjoyable. He also gets a good amount of character development in the gameverse, and he goes to show you that he has a heart of gold underneath all that zaniness. He's overall just someone who's fun to watch, and it's great to see how other characters he runs into (literally) deals with his personality, as he has a good amount of chemistry with just about anyone. Also he fines people for a million dollars, and that's pretty awesome.
Dawn is second because she's Dawn.
Umineko no Naku Koro ni -
Erika FurudoRunner-up: Dlanor A. Knox
Not only is she my favorite character from When the Seagulls Cry, but I can also say that she's one one of my favorite fictional characters of all time. She is extremely intelligent, though uses this as a means to degrade others while flaunting her own superiority, and thus comes off as a very loathsome bitch by plenty. Her villainous and very unlikeable personality are all the reasons why I adore her though, because while she was introduced into the story as a role that is usually credited to the good guys (the detective), she just goes about it in such a way that makes you absolutely hate her. She is extremely prideful, though I like how she's not afraid to throw away that pride when it's necessary to gain the upper hand. She also does anything possible in order to back up her facts with proof that I have never seen other detectives do; running around the outside of a mansion in a swimsuit while there was a storm in order to tape up all the windows, pressing her ear to a wall all night long in order to listen in on the room next to hers, and cutting off the heads of victims to make sure they are dead are just a few examples. Once I also got a glimpse at her past, as well as her inevitable fate, I couldn't help but feel compassionate for a character I was supposed to hate.
So she's just a character that I love to hate, she's the character who best fits the role of a villain in the Umineko series, and she's just the est character in the series in general. It's a shame that she appears quite late into the series, and also quite briefly as well, because I think that her inclusion into the earlier portions of the series could have been something awesome. Her
unofficial theme is also one of my favorite tracks in a game where 99% of the music is friggin' awesome.
So what do you think everyone? This level of biased praise is possible for Furudo Erika!
Angel Beats -
Kanade TachibanaRunner-up: Hideki Hinata
The adorable angel of moe herself is my favorite character in this series. While I will admit that her looks play a big role in why she's my favorite character in the series (I'm sorry she's so damn adorable), there are plenty aspects of her character that I like as well. She's the softspoken and innocent girl, and she doesn't really have very unique qualities that separate herself from the other characters that fit that archetype besides being able to kick ass and take names; however, I don't think it's wrong to like a character just because she's pretty "typical", but I feel kind of bad choosing her when I really do like the whole cast of Angel Beats equally. So maybe the correct answer here is that I like the entire cast of Angel Beats, but Kanade gets top priority right now because I'm in a sort of Kanade fix at the moment. And people like
cloudxsword and
ceal_kun can screw off, because I've always liked Kanade from the very beginning.
Durarara!! -
Erika Karisawa and Walker YumasakiRunner-up: Shingen Kishitani
They don't really have a significance to the overall plot until near the end of the anime, but even then their roles are quite minor and behind the scenes. Regardless, they still manage to be two on my favorite characters in the series, precisely because of how little we know of them by the anime's end. I paired them both together as my favorite characters because you can't really have one without the other, and I don't know if either would have any value if they were really separated apart. You could say that they're bad characters individually, but they play off so well together that they could also be considered one entity. It's like how I view Isaac and Miria from Baccano!, except that the humor that Erika and Walker contribute to their series is much more up my alley. They're otaku, so of course there's going to be lots of referencing hum our out of them which I eat up. At the same time, the most interesting part about them is that they take their otakuness to the next level, and overlap it into their reality in a sort of psychotic and disturbing way, which goes to show a darker layer underneath their usual silliness. I mean, they can go so far as to use examples from manga as a means of choosing a torture method (though this was downplayed in the anime sadly), and can simply play off events from their past as "fiction" that never happened.
So yeah, these guys are cool. It's not just because they're funny, but it's also because their interesting to me on a psychological level.
