It was when the quiet evening phonecall with his wife was brutally interrupted by a loud BANG and the sight of Nick Clegg's foot bursting through his office door, that David's evening began to get a lot more interesting.

Nick had obviously kicked the door open with a little more force than he had intended as he stumbled into the room clumsily, nearly dropping the bottle of Bollinger and two flutes he was clutching in his fists. "SURPRI-- woops!" he yelped, trying to remain on both feet, the champagne sloshing about in its bottle like a bad-tempered ocean.

David had definitely not expected such an unconventional entrance. He was rendered silent, mouth hanging open ajar whilst Nick adjusted himself.
