14 - the days I live without you

I'm so very sorry for the lateness of the new post. But this is the first time LJ is working for me again.  I wrote a sonnet for you but is now forever lost in the glitches :(
So no funny business here, I know you want to get back to the usual game ASAP.

There is a substitute on dreamwidth in case LJ is having trouble again.

The usual things:

"Miriam thought it was adorable," Nick continued, dragging a chair around to David's side of the desk and opening the paper over David's work. "She is wondering if I plan on replacing her with you, though."

"Aren't you?" The question slipped out before David was able to catch it. Quickly, he stared down at the article in front of him, avoiding Nick's questioning gaze.

But then, there was a warm breath at his ear and he could feel how close Nick was leaning into him. "David," Nick whispered.

David swallowed, "Nick." But he didn't turn and face Nick. He continued looking at the largest picture on the page, the five of them sitting and cheering at once with Elwen and Alberto both standing up and jumping excitedly.

Apparently, though, he didn't need to say anything. Because Nick's lips began trailing up his jaw. David could feel his chair turning to face Nick, and then, as Nick's lips latched onto his, he had a lap full of Nick. He moaned unexpectedly into Nick's mouth, surprising himself, as his lips parted and he eagerly thrust his tongue outward and between Nick's parted lips. Nick moaned back and let a hand wander to David's waist, palming him through his trousers.

"Fuck," David whispered between kisses, "yes."

"Good," Nick responded, taking that as permission to begin tugging at the button on David's trousers. He'd just got the zip down when there was a knock at the door and he flung himself off of David's lap and back into his chair.

Looking slightly flustered, David didn't have time to fix his trousers before the door began to open. So, instead, he just scooted closer to the desk and hoped he wasn't going to have to stand up.

"Oh, hey, I just wanted to let you know that I'll cook dinner tonight so you don't have to worry about it."

Nick blushed when he realised it was Sam. He looked up and smiled at her politely.

"Hello, Nick. I saw you had a good time at the football yesterday," Sam smiled brightly.

Nick nodded, "Yeah, we were just looking at the Mail's pictures," he gestured to the papers in front of him.

"I loved the one where David was holding Miguel as he slept," Sam chuckled, looking over to where her husband was shifting awkwardly in his seat.

Grinning, Nick told her, "That was Miriam's favourite as well."

"Right," Sam eyed David for a second before taking a step backward, "I just came down to tell David about dinner. You two get back to work." She turned and paused at the door, "Oh, and boys? Next time remember to lock the door. It might be someone other than me next time." She locked the door and shut it behind her.

David stared after his wife in disbelief. Then he stared at Nick. And then, this time, he was in Nick's lap.
