Another show gone to waste
Ever heard of Point Pleasant? I hadn't until recently. Ok, I know I'm late to the boat and that it aired over a year ago...but when it did air I did not have FOX. I heard some people talk about it and decided to give it a chance.
Unlike FOX, I did give it a chance. FOX, who over the years has been known to pull the plug on many shows of quality. Do I need to mention Tru Calling, Dark Angel...? I'm sure you know most of them and I don't need to mention them all.
So, yeah I did give it a chance and I was blown away. I even started wondering why had they pull the plug on a show of that quality to keep something like THE OC who is constantly running around in circles, among other things not so great. Audience ratings, most will say. Cut the crap please! Sometimes people go for what seems safe and is not out of the ordinary. That's what FOX do. That's what a lot of viewers do. But Point Pleasant have it had been given the chance, could have prove to them that it could draw in viewers. You know, sometimes some show needs a season to set themselves in and get a good base of viewers. But when they're given a chance of 8 episodes that's not much to prove to the world you're awesome! For some it might work and make them get into it, but for others it's another story. Like I said the moment it's a step away from normal, people don't give it a chance.
I'm thinking about something, here. Why is FOX so not understanding? So what if they don't have 15 millions viewers. At least they can say they have a programation of quality, but that's mostly not the case. They could be a little bit more like the WB or UPN. I mean look at Veronica Mars! I love that show and it's so great and it's a really intelligent show and of quality...and it does not draw in more than 3 millions viewers a week and yet, they've been having faith in it. It's getting in its 3rd season. Some might think it was a risky choice to make VM part of the new merged channel The CW. I think, it's wise. They're showing to the world that quality matters, not quantity. Go ahead FOX and learn.
Anyway, for those who haven't give a chance to Point Pleasant, I'm asking you to try one or two episode. There's surely a way for you to get your hand on one. I tought it was addicting. I watch the 13 episodes in about 24 hours. It just tells you how much I got drown in. I tought it was well written and the cast is perfect, most of them. Elisabeth Harnois, the main actress is just so amazing. I don't know why, but when I first saw her picture i tought :"Oh, there we go, another one pretty face, that can't act her life out of anything and still wants to make it big" and there I almost compared her to Mischa Barton, and sorry for those who like her, but I just can't stand her and her inability to act, but that's just my opinion. The fact is, I was wrong. Elisabeth is a fantstic actress. oh and Sam Page is really cute, and not so bad either.
This show even got me in another crossover pairing, yet again, Dean is concerned. I think he and Christina (E.H. character's) would make a great couple. They kinda are an antithese of each other and that's what is great about it. it's so unconventional that it's almost perfect. Even tought I seem to ship Dean with at least 3 characters, Peyton and Dean are still my fave UC ship.
