I got pretty brutally sick the weekend before last, so I took a break from the whole exercise/diet thing. Luckily (or unluckily, considering how unpleasant it was) my throat was so raw and swollen and infected with some sort of fungal looking infection that I couldn't really eat, so besides the occasional pudding cup or small bowl of ice cream I didn't break the whole vague "diet" idea that I've got going on. However, the lack of exercise for like a week set me back so it's taken me 'til now to get back on track. I don't really trust the scale in my house anymore because it seems to fluctuate more than I think my weight actually does, but today it told me I was at 280 lbs so I was pretty happy.

My weight loss buddy actually got sick right before I did (I don't know who gave it to me, her or my brother, I just know I had it worse than either of them) so we were both set back a bit. After kind of recovering, we decided to look at adding some pharmaceutical aid to our weight loss plan since we basically lost a couple of weeks of intense workout time so early in the plan - I mean, we've got like, 60 days left before our vacation now! It's crazy! It's actually less than two months away from today that we leave. So we went to the drugstore to check out Alli, which it turns out is super expensive. I'm still considering it as an option, but maybe after I've paid down a few other things. It's like $75 just to get the starter kit and you only get like a month's worth of pills with that or whatever. Plus I'm not sure if I'm ready for a diet that could cause me to literally shit myself at work. That seems like a side effect strong enough to deter me from using the product at all, honestly. So instead we decided to try something cheaper off the shelf - we went with the Jillian Michael's starter kit. It seems to be mostly a stimulant/laxative, which is a bit annoying as I was trying to avoid the poop-all-the-time-diet, but the stimulant appears to be curbing my appetite a bit which is helpful. You're just supposed to take two "Metacaps" before each large meal, so at least twice a day but not more than three times per day. I've been just doing twice mostly out of fear of never being able to leave the bathroom but at least I've been drinking a shit ton of water with it. We started on Monday so I haven't really seen a difference yet but I'll keep updating!
