I'm super stoked because I completely forgot that I put myself on the waiting list for NYPL's e-edition of Erin Morgenstern's The Night Circus and I woke up to an email saying that it was ready for me to borrow! I'm in the middle of The Last Warewolf by Glen Duncan, but I'm probably going to put that aside so I can read The Night Circus before it expires.
How do you all feel about eReaders and eBooks? I work at a Barnes & Noble, so I kind of have to like the nook. But in all honesty, I love it for library borrowing. I've only purchased two books on my nook so far, and those were only because the eBooks were cheaper even than my employee discount. The rest of the reading I do on my nook is borrowed from the library--and you can't beat being able to borrow a bestseller that's still in hard cover (and thus still expensive) without having to even go to the library. And as a librarian, I love that eReaders make reading more accessible to people who need large print books or can't hold heavy books any more, or don't have the mobility to get to the library or the bookstore.
So how many of you already have eReaders? Anyone still thinking of getting one? And if you're a librarian, how do you feel about eReaders from a professional standpoint?
