but first; holy shit NYC in two days. I'm not stoked to be there for 7 days, but what am I gonna do. I don't even know what time my flight is.
I emailed tokyo rebel the moment it struck 9, and sent another email on a different account and Carmen and I are still in different groups :( I'm in group one, and she's in group three. Maybe I can trade with someone. The dress code is kind of strict, like I don't own that much BABY, and I make a lot of my clothes and accessories so idk. IT'S NOT MY FAULT I CAN'T FIT INTO MY FAV BURANDO yes it is.
I got some new swag (crop, and dressage whip haha) to celebrate my first go at xcountry on Luna. It was a little more intense than last year, where we just went over the coupe, and log piles. I jumped everything except the ramp (no one did), no refusals. I'm very happy with our performance. It was different from last year in the sense that we did more ~leaving the herd~ stuff, so cantering through the brush, and doing x poles where no one can see you etc. We were out there for a good solid hour and a half, not including warm up.
Luna was a dream <3 She's so good.
Then I raced over to Jen's house to work on Mimi and Mo. Ruth bought a new lunge whip and line so it was more smooth this time. . I am in no way a professional, but using my common sense and what I have picked up over the year.
Mimi
-was great on the lunge, good at taking voice commands
- Kept focusing on what Mo was up to
-Was a bit difficult with the saddle and mounting
Mo
-was not good on the lunge, lots of rearing and bucking ( I got more tough with him this week)
-we re established what Back up means
-more interested in what Mimi was up to.
I have concluded that they still have an extremely strong pack mentality so I'm leaving them with an independence exercise (ie: taking them on walks separately) just to get them used to being with out each other, since after we had finished with Mimi, (Ted had accidentally let Mo go, since he was getting super anxious) and Mimi was rearing, and we just let her go and they raced off together. Going to tackle that by leading them out of the area separately.
I wish I had more time to get out there, but school and parents hating horses so what ever
then they paid me enough to cover gas money *_*
