Here. ANY OTHER HISTORY POINTS: When Ranulf was a child of about six, he was taken along with a small number of of other children to the Training Grounds (such a small number that if he ever met them again, he'd know immediately if they'd been there or not), and for seemingly not a normal experience there. He and the other children were given an experimental drug that was designed to increase reflex and muscle growth, something likely to have come from wherever the Overlord's had came from. However, nothing deemed 'useful' came from the drug and the project was discontinued- however, it was too late for some of the children. Some showed no side affects, but others showed much more dire and unique side affects. Ranulf is one of the latter children- at eight years of age, Ranulf was no longer... well, not entirely human, per-say. He developed animal likeness, that being a cat, and has a permanent set of ears and tail because of it, and also greatly influenced his change power.
The Overlord's seemed aware of the condition of some of the children, which they then dubbed 'laguz'; these 'laguz' were decided to be kept till fourteen years as age, as maybe their brains could be useful for cunning and skill, since the childred showed some animal-like qualities. Because of the side affect, Ranulf and the others more outwardly effected were kept in a seperate Dorm away from the other children, though at meal times they mingled- though forced to wear a cloak and conceal their deformed bodies.
Despite that, he did befriend some children that were not terrified of his presence, and wonders till this day if they ever did get out of the Dorms. Of that, he cannot be sure.
Ranulf lived the next five years of his life in misery, till he escaped just like many others before him. The first time his change power emerged, Ranulf transformed into what would be his greatest weapon, another unknown side effect to the Drug. He became a human-sized cat- and the tracer, suddenly uneeded, ceased working and came out of his then cat-wrist.
He's been with Shade for the best part of three years, and serves as a mixture of tactical advice and support and out on the front, given his change power- since it is, afterall, limited.
PERSONALITY: One would think that Ranulf's outlook on life would be pretty low- but surprisingly, it's not.
Ranulf is even tempered, mostly cheerful and positive of all things he could be. Life may not have particularly being kind to him but he views what happened to him as something that won't change, so he may as well live with it and live what life has to offer to the full- and make the most of the odd abilities he has been given.
He also has a sense of dry humour about him, often trying to get people to laugh rather than brawl with one another. He's bound to get on with most anyone and be the light hearted one in a group, proved when he was part of the collective group of laguz in their seperate dorm- he was the positive one that believed things would turn out better for them. Even then, he knows when enough is enough and when justice must be served with his claws. Despite the looks he gets for his cat-genes, it doesn't bother him much. Not anymore- he's used to it now after several years of people seeing him clearly whilst in the Sub, and there are definately much bigger things to worry over than people judging him by appearence. Even if someone disrepects him, calling him a 'sub-human', he is never disrespectful of them back. Everyone is equal to him.
Even if he does seem pretty upbeat a lot of the time, he can have his down moments where he seems pretty unsure of himself, though these seem to come and go quickly.
CHANGE POWER: Ranulf's original change power can be said to be unknown- the drug, whatever it was, seemed to influence his change power greatly. At will, Ranulf can transform into a blue cat that's roughly human sized, sharp claws, teeth, everything. He can also fight in this form, though the time frame is limited to about fifteen-twenty minutes depending on his location so he doesn't rely on it for all events. Since it is particularly taxing on him, he could roughly do this for three times in succession before collapsing and taking a day or so to recoperate.
ANY OTHER ABILITIES: Despite his life being made even more dismal from the drug, it didn't come without advantages. Ranulf seems to literally become a cat; his reflexes are sharp, he can run long distances without getting tired, he can see reasonably well in all conditions (and it's particularly advantagous in the dark), and his sense of hearing and smell are inpecable. However he's quite fragile and bruises easily if hit whilst in human form.
He also has the makings of a good tactician, and he helps out in both fields, and is a valuable memeber to any team.
