So yesterday was the last day of NaNoWriMo and I finished with a word count of 52,283. Unfortunately that is a far cry from my goal of 100k. So, I may have won the competition but I lost the war.
It all came down to life getting in the way. I had 9-5 training for a week with limited computer access and ended up so tired afterward that I would fall asleep as soon as I got home. I had art-direction projects to work on (that had to be done after I returned from training). Then I got the flu/cold/fever and basically couldn't look at a computer.
And to make it worse I attempted to write two novels. Mainly because I was being overly ambitious and not prepared to write Icarus at the start of NaNo. This means of the 52k I wrote, about 27k was written for Icarus. Yet another thing I'm disappointed about.
So despite all I wrote, my novel is far from finished and that's where
NaNoFiMo comes in. I did it last year and successfully finished, so I'm doing it again.
The goal is to finish Icarus by December 20th. Not sure how many words it will take, but I'll guess 90k for now. As for the other novel I'll finish it whenever I get the chance.
That's all.
Happy December folks!
