Chi-town has amazing architecture

The train ride was wonderful. Got in a bit late though as our regular engine was replaced with a slower freight one. Still...it was incredibly restful and I got a lot of reading done.

The hotel room, despite my fears, is really nice. Had to pay for internet in my room, but eh I needed it. Spent my first hours in Chicago buying Indian food and scarfing it down in my room. I missed a lot of my surroundings in the night light.

This morning, a group of MAS SF grads met at a breakfast place for a quick one and then a walk to Leo Burnett for the review. Let's just say we were there pretty early and things really didn't get started until after 1pm. I met with quite a few folks and got some valuable feedback. After showing my work about ten times to different people you begin to get bored with the work and fascinated with the responses as they aren't always predictable.

The room is cold and so is the lunch they brought us, but the city is looking mighty fabulous outside. I will say this, the city has some amazing architecture. The boyfriend is aware of this of course, particularly the Frank Lloyd Wright House and Studio. When I mentioned it, he said he would "piss himself with excitement"--and it makes me wish he had come on the trip with me. Not to see him piss, but because we could have really enjoyed the city together.

Anyway, tonight plans to be interesting thanks to $5 martinis and drag queens...two of my favorite things.

It's a shame I will be leaving the city tomorrow afternoon, but that gives me tomorrow morning to run about a bit and see what I can before checkout. Photos to come soon.

Cheers.
