That's it! I want to make my own boots.
Well...not make...more like modify.
After seeing this great tutorial Ultimate Jack Sparrow boots doing just that seems fairly possible.
Why resort to making/modifying boots?
Because I have been searching for a good pair of fitted, low heel boots with no result. Oh I've seen tons of boots, but they were all super high heeled, poorly fitting [or at least built for someone with thicker calves] or poorly made.
I just can't seem to find the right combo...even in the higher price brackets.
So until I find something, I am humoring the notion.
But I ponder this key thing.
Why why WHY?!! are most boots designed to basically be weapons? Some of the stilettos looked like they were more for crushing grapes or stabbing small woodland creatures than for walking. And this whole shin guard style a bunch of boots have been styling is just tacky. Keep shin guards for soccer and quidditch, thank you.
All I want is a pair of boots, you know those things that lace or zip up and tightly hug the calf. As I live in the land of killer hills, I would also like the heels to not rival some of the devil mounds I traverse everyday. Just some low or at least chunky heels.
Oh well.
We'll see how that goes.
