Akeelah and the Wondercon...

Feb 16, 2008 23:58

So tonight I watched Akeelah and the Bee for the first time. It was sooo good! I got all misty and excited [I even talked to the TV a bit]. It was just a really touching story. Whoever edited and directed it, did a great job. So if you haven't seen it and want to watch a feel good movie...that's a good one.

And Wondercon is coming up!!!
It's like a mini-comic con held in SF right around my B-day. And since I will probably be too broke for the actual Comic Con, I'm going to this one.

As for costumes, I was going to go all out and go as Tia Dalma [Calypso] from Pirates of the Caribbean, but I don't think I'll have the time. Plus I want to take pictures my first time and cameras don't work with period costumes.

So instead I'm going in a more low key/obscure costume. I'm going at Tenna [see lj icon above] from "I Feel Sick" a comic book written by Jhonen Vasquez of "Johnny the Homocidal maniac" and "Invader Zim" fame.

The costume will consist of:
--green pants
--green short tank
--black 3/4 sleeve shirt
--mr. spooky squeak toy
--backpack?

Yeah...so not too complicated. I'll post photos later.
