I'm pretty fond of Fringe, and it's definitely all about Walter. The science is silly, and the locations are ridic, but Walter and his world have a certain honesty that's refreshing on TV. (For example, the ep where Lance Reddick accidentally ingests LSD, and trips in a pretty realistic way.) Season 2 is definitely a pretty big switch-up, I think for the better. Once we get into the dual universes, John Noble (and Leonard Nimoy) chew the scenery in the most amusing ways.

I just can't get into the fan scene at all, though, because it's all about the obvious ship. Bo-ring. But I gotta love that the Hot Chick is always glamorous while wearing Shoes You Can Run In.

We've tried it twice, and keep bouncing off of it - we get maybe two or three episodes in and lose all interest. I'm not sure why.

Because the first episodes totally suck. I gave you a guide to how to skim S1, long ago... it was in S2 that I got into it, and only went back to S1 later (when I rather liked some of the episodes.)
