I'm pretty sure that the title to this post - "My dreamers will wake in another America" is a line of poetry from a Patti Smith album cover from the 1970s. But who wrote it originally? Or am I just making it up? I feel a bit haunted.
I love Moby Dick. It's a very slashable book. Ishmael/Queequeg is canon. But being in love with Captain Ahab, as I am, is probably not politically correct. Nor is it shipping Ahab/Starbuck!
Although I'm sure the US and the world are doomed either way, I wish you good luck today.

Well, thank you! and as one of the three economists who I think isn't a fool once said, in the long run we're all dead. But I'd prefer doom to be averted as much as possible, or at least meliorated. Also I would like some evidence that more American voters agree with me than not. So - here's hoping!
And yes, Ishmael/Queequeeg are MARRIED, in fact. I love that book so much.
Alas no, we have to leave super-early tomorrow a.m. so I can get back to dealing with the horrible work-related events. The University with the Name That Rhymes with Spork has decided to explode this year - from the grad student union to the highest level of administration, everyone has gone completely beserk. Wait, no, I'm trying not to think of it today. I'll see you in January! Happy election!
