1. I first met Dean not long ago after my wife and I split up.
2. (Can it be a short story?) "Nickie," his sister said to him. "Listen to me, Nickie."
3. In 1929, when I was nineteen years old, I arrived in Paris on a bright September day almost straight from the dusty pavements and dirty roads of my birthplace- St. Helen, which is a pastoral country town in Victoria, Australia.
