as many of you know, "42nd Street" will officially be our spring musical... I was all ready to do Barnum, so I'm a little bummed, but it's a great show, so I'm not that worried. I take that back. The fact that this is a HUGE tap show, I am nervous... Us? Tapping? The girls'll be okay, I think. But some of the boys? AGH. whatever... it'll work out

As always, I have done my research:) Here's a list of characters, with descriptions.

Peggy Sawyer, A Broadway Hopeful - Ingenue, Sweet, Small - Town girl. ~ Bunch of solos

Julian Marsh, A Big-Time Broadway Director - Smooth Talking Director, ~ Lots of solos

Billy Lawlor, The Leading Man In "Pretty Lady" - Classic Ego-Tripping Actor ~ A couple solos

Dorothy Brock, The Leading Lady In "Pretty Lady" - Over the hill actresss, she's only there because her "sugardaddy" threatened to not back the show if she wasn't given the lead. She knows it, and has a LOVAH (I WANT THIS ROLE) ~ a bunch of solos

Bert Barry, Co-Author Of "Pretty Lady" - No nonsense

Maggie Jones, Co-Author Of "Pretty Lady" - No nonsense

Abner Dillon, Dorothy's Sugar Daddy - Funny character! Should be old and gross, but rich, so it's okay. He loves Dorothy, but becomes smitten with the next dame he meets after she dumps him.

Annie Riley, A Chorus Girl - Abner's second girlfriend. She's offered the lead after Dorothy hurts herself, but turns it over to Peggy.

Andy Lee, The Dance Director - Must Dance well, not sure otherwise

Pat Denning, Dorothy's LOVAH - He used to be big in vaudville, with Dorothy as his partner, but she made it and he didn't. Nice guy, good looking, a couple solos.

Mac, The Stage Manager (Why are all stage managers named Mac, ei Loving Lives?) Nice guy, kinda generic

Oscar, The Piano Player - Overworked and underappreciated... gets exasperated alot

Diane Lorimer, A Chorus Girl

Phyllis Dale, A Chorus Girl

Lorraine Flemming, A Chorus Girl

Gladys, A Chorus Girl **These girls are all in the chorus, but are larger roles. I think they have solos peppered throughout. Annie and Peggy's friends.
