pretty damn accurate, i must say...

the chorus sub made me want to scream.
we're doing this assessment thing were you go into one of the warm-up rooms and sing "wonder as i wander" into a tape recorder with a taped accompaniment. the problem is, pat never took the time to make sure that the stupid freshman actually knew the song. so they all looked at me and went "HELP!"... so, being the cool kid i am, i tried to work on parts on the main piano. but the sub wouldn't let me. so then a bunch of kids went into a different warm up room to practice, and she let them. so i rounded up the altos to go into the 3rd room. she wouldn't let me. by this point i was really pissed off so i just sat and did nothing. i know the song... if she won't let me help the kids who don't, fine by me.
after a while, the persistent kids got really annoying, so i went up to her again. she said okay, so i thought "great! hurrah! finally"... and i said that i was going to work on it for a minute, to make sure i was familiar with the piece on the piano, and i was pounding out the melody. she stood RIGHT OVER MY SHOULDER, practically touching me the whole time. i then got to the part were the guys break off to do the second verse, and the girls sing a "loo" harmony. she told me to not teach them the harmony, just do the melody. i pointed out that everyone knew the melody, and not the harmony. she repeated "just do the harmony". so i said "it's pointless to just do the melody, because that's not what they need"... to this she replied "well, then they won't ever know the harmony, will they?"
i was so frustrated beyond all belief that i just got up and walked away. i took my new song for my voice lessons, and went into a warm-up room to be alone and work. she then proceeded to kick me out, "cuz these kids need help on the harmonies." so she put a bunch of kids, none of whom knew how to play piano, into a room, to work on the harmonies. and she wouldn't let me stay to help.
with 2 minutes left of class, as i was sitting in a chair, reeling in the absolute feeling of rage in my stomach, she came over to me and said, "these girls need help with the song, will you help them?"

so... i argued for 58 minutes, and then she let me do it.

SCREW IT

besides that, and the tree-planting ceremony, my day was fine. My piano teacher said that she couldn't believe that I've only taken three years of piano, and that that was 7 years ago. *GRIN*
