ooooo new updating format.... delovely!

soo... life is good right now. i'm happy. and not numb anymore. hurrah! i'm not used to all that sadness and stuff. my life isn't fantabulous all the time, but i'm usually a sunny-side-of-the-street kinda girl. hmm...

so excited about the play. even though i think some people would have been better in certain roles, there aren't really any "weak" people. everyone is a capable enough actor to make the show reaaalllyyyy funny (even a certain bitchy child is doing ok... probably because her character is pissed all the time, so there isn't much room for overacting!)... we've only read through it once, and everyone seems really into it, developing their characters and everything... i'm thinking that Blanche is a Katherine Hepburn meets Ladies who Lunch meets Karen from Will and Grace... she's a boozer, hehehe. There's this really funny scene when everybody is pissed and there's a brawl onstage... and i just sit in my chair and drink wine nonchalantly.... yeeeesssss!

excited. just got the barnum cd in the mail. seriously, half.com is life. it's a branch of ebay that sells used things for reaallyy cheap... well, people sell things, not the company. and the stuff arrives so quickly! i ordered it on monday! it's thursday! true, it only came from new york, but still!

there are 3 female characters that i would LOVE to be!
1. Charity Barnum (The Wife): She has a TON of solos, and they're all really fun. totally depends on who plays Barnum, though... the whole height thang.
2. Jenny Lind: "The Swedish Nightingale" She's the singer that Barnum leaves his wife to promote on tour... i'm not clear if it's a romantic thing, or just business... She has a few solos as well... Probably won't get her, cuz of the whole belly thang. (i don't mind the belly, it's just not very "sexy swedish lady")
3. "The Oldest Woman in the World": She has the COOLEST solo ever! It's called "Thank God I'm Old" and it's really funny and belty. the singer on the cd sounds kind of like Ulla from The Producers (the belty part, though).

i wicked wanna be the oldest woman in the world... and i think i have a okay chance at getting it... i mean, who else would? everyone else is too "young" (I think you guys are fabuloso, you know that! but old looking, you ain't... i'm not either... but if i prove myself with Blanche... who knows?)

So, I like Barnum. It's fun, upbeat, and should be pretty cool to put on... Keep in mind that Pat told me that she was still considering some other options.

*** Just noticed that Glenn Close played Barnum's wife! And she's good! Wow!***
