4. It involves a pairing I like or a character I think is underused.
3. I'm trying to not write a paper (I realize this has nothing to do with the fic, but I found that I'll read just about anything when I'm trying to procrastinate and avoid school work).

1. It's a crossover!! - especially those that stay rooted in a particular fandom (i.e. Xander from BTVS meets NCIS and doesn't explain the supernatural to them)
