am so excited for syl's wedding & all the planning and crafts and stuff that's to come :D
I think I sound psycho but I <3 going to work (:
i loved the japan trip totally! 7 days in Tokyo for consumer research was so insightful, interesting and such a good learning experience. Focus group discussions were so cooool! I always thought it'd something super boring but the team actually sits behind a mirror to observe participants and they don't know that we're there! It's like a criminal investigation room !! And home visits were amusing. to see 4 different types of guys, how the segments blend in and change after marriage, to see their style and living environment. It made everything I was reading on paper come to life. One of our consumers we interviewed was the most interesting. He'd start asking us to listen to his song compositions, and tell me I look like some Jap actress and burst out into song on his guitar. AND he took out the newspaper and showed us a pic of him busking in a female priest costume. (and tells us, SHHH this is a secret ok!)
AND SHOPPING WAS SO FANTABULOUS. I wished I had more time to shop through shibuya and harajuku and ginza though! (: Kobe was such a short trip. Our office is located in Kobe Bay which is ulu and quiet. Like a ghost town that I sincerely felt that I was gonna be in a horror movie, waiting to be turned into a wax figure. And when I asked one of the team members in the japan office why there were so few people around on the streets, he says- it could be because of the kobe earthquake, wiped out a lot of people. omg. HEHE but the food was yummyyyy + being able to meet the team in Japan in person was soooo helpful. One day was spent entirely on sales training and I got to go to the stores and watch how the sales team sells to the customers.
WHEEE And my first day back to office on friday was so fun. I brought back soooo many samples I could open a mama shop :D And my manager plays with all the samples and the bms are so cute. They find a soccer ball and all start kicking it around and aiming to hit the windows. And my manager tells me- now you're a caterpillar, learning how to crawl faster, and in a few months time, u'll be a butterfly!! I was totally amused. AND apparently the other guy under my manager says he didnt get such an analogy. hahahah must be how they talk to female employees :D
