Fic Rec: Not All Those Who Wander
I finally have a chance today to catch my breath after the semester's chaotic end and my parents' visit, and it is *divine*!!
And the most important thing I have to convey here is a starry eyed recommendation for the most wonderful, epic, beyond *beyond* fic that
xparrot wrote for me for the 520 exchange, "Not All Those Who Wander."
This story is everything. To me now it is the canon that precedes both the book and the TV series. It's hard to imagine that this fic never existed before the 520 challenge because it just feels so fundamental. Also absolutely beautifully written--it somehow manages to be both epic and intimate at once. It is a story I will return to again and again.
If you haven't read it yet and you love wonderful fan fiction that just transports you and fills that space inside you, and affirms and magnifies everything you feel about a beloved show, and then fixes the things that are holes... and fixes them in a totally transformative, wonderful way, then run don't walk to read this fic.
