When he went to chop some trunks for the fires, instead of Jiyong in the morning, Sandara went with him.
He told her that he wanted some time alone, but clearly, she insisted that if he hurt himself, nobody will be there to help him.
He let her tag along.
While he was sweating like a pig in a wifebeater, trying his best to train his muscles back to complete health, she sat on the green grass and enjoyed herself.
"Did you know…?" She started, Seunghyun wiped his forehead. "This white flower, that looks so innocent, can kill in an hour. Animal or men, in just an hour." She rolled it in her hand and took a whiff of it, placing it back on the ground.
Seunghyun looked at her, and wondered what happened to the Sandara that loved handguns. Not plants, but handguns were her constant topic. He remembered that she owned quite a few. Traded them even for her last water if she really liked the model. "Life's a bitch, Seunghyun." She had said then, "One moment you're a man with water, the other you ain't even alive to enjoy it. All that water, what good does it make if I can't guard it well enough?"
They were never too close - him and Sandara, but the question ringed in his ears. Sure, they fucked once or twice, having some tension between them and clearly knowing nothing will grow out of their relationship. They both knew the truth, if the other asked for water, they won't even piss their way.
And Seunghyun respected that, because he liked strong woman.
Not woman that covered their knees shyly and talked about flowers and smells and plants that he had no fucking idea of.
He wanted to tell her, that she liked handguns and firearms and headshots. He wanted to ask her if she followed him around, because she remembered that night in the desert by the campfire they sat up with Youngbae, where she crawled to his lap and they fucked like bunnies. He wanted to tell her that she wasn't the best at sex, but she also wasn't a virgin, and she was not very shy to begin with.
He wanted to ask, what happened to the Dara he knew, and if she was going to come back anytime soon.
"What's wrong?" She smiled. "Do I have something on my face?"
Seunghyun swung his axe and cut another log into two pieces.
"Maybe you should rest a little."
"In a minute." He finished the last of them, and sat by her, taking a deep breath. He needed that exercise and now his body was aching, yet at ease.
His muscles throbbed with activity and it was great that he didn't even mind the pain in his chest.
He put his head on the pillow of dry leaves and weeds and it smelled of wood and life.
He felt like any minute now, he'll wake up in his room in 17, and laugh at how vivid this dream looked like.
He felt something tickling his nose and cheek, and opened his eyes.
Dara tapped a purple flower on his face, smiling warmly. She leaned down a moment later and captured his lips.
Her lips were soft, and his expectations were higher.
He wanted a different kind of kiss, but he guessed that dreams were always sweeter than reality.
He closed his eyes, caught her flower and crumpled it in his hand, before lowering her head once again to make-out.

When they came for lunch, Jiyong was absent.
Sandara looked like she won the lottery, and Seunghyun smirked at the thought, and sat down.
"Where's Jiyong?" She noticed, tucking some strands behind Suzy's head as she sat by her.
"He was feeling slight nausea, he went to lay down."
Seunghyun was also feeling a little nausea since something Dara ate hadn't quite agreed with his stomach.
"And Minzy?" Seunghyun asked, more concerned for the naughty girl than for the arrogant prick. For all he cared, Jiyong should die from gases or… even better, die out something really embarrassing like on the toilet seat.
"She started having visions again. I gave her some seductive… hopefully she'll feel better by dinner time."
"Visions?"
"Seunghyun, Minzy is a seer. You have those in your side?" Daesung poured himself some soup.
"No."
"Usually, there's a seer in every clan. Seers are people who connect the gods... They can determinate on people's destinies."
Seunghyun snorted; "Isn't destiny is something you make yourself? Haven't heard that word in a while."
Bom and Daesung exchanged looks but didn't say anything.
"Minzy is a Star Seer!" Suzy said with full mouth. "But since there was another Seer born, she was banished."
Seunghyun didn't quite understand. What kind of vision she saw, or what's with the destiny and prophesies and whatever. He didn’t care jack about their beliefs anyway. He wasn't from this side.

In late after-noon of the next day, he was busy avoiding Sandara when he bumped onto Jiyong with a few herbs in his hands.
Jiyong stumbled a bit back, though didn't fall down, and Seunghyun rooted on his spot, narrowing his eyes at him.
Seunghyun was watching if Dara was following him, so surely he didn't see Jiyong coming, but what was his excuse? Did he really not notice him walking his way?
"Watch where you're going, you fat ass."
"I should be saying it to you, airhead."
When Jiyong passed him, Seunghyun noticed how pale he looked and that his hands were shaking slightly. Even by noticing it, he felt like he cared too much.
He watched him go and disappear behind some trees. He waited for a few minutes, checking if Dara was following him or not.
She didn't, though, and Seunghyun took a deep inhale and tucked his hands into his pockets.
He strolled through the forest, liking the sights of greens. It was something he truly couldn't be bored with no matter how much time passed.
He didn't have a real purpose in his roaming, and it felt good to wander with the breeze on his back and face.
He was alarmed when he saw some orange hair on the forest floor.
He ran up to Minzy, who was laying between two trunks. Her eyes were closed. Seunghyun wondered if she was even breathing.
He didn't really know what to do. Maybe he should call Bom.
But what if it was too late?
She looked really sick, and her eyes were red hallows in her face.
She suddenly sat up and opened her eyes, and he saw how her irises grew right in front of his eyes.
"Fire in the east." She said.
"What?"
"A battle between races. Fire in the east.”
"Minzy… are you feeling okay? Do you want me to get Bom?"
Tears strolled down her face; "There's so much death. Darkness in this future."
Seunghyun leaned down to her, and wiped her tears. "Hey, didn't you know that death is only the beginning?" He smiled, trying to be reassuring, but she held onto his hand in an iron clutch, until it started to shake from the force.
"Minzy…?"
"Blood is your color. It had been the color of your father, and so it is yours."
He didn't remember sharing anything about his father with her, but she seemed to be correct. Was that the Seer mumbo-jumbo Bom and Daesung talked about?
"Blood is also your love. Running away from you, betraying you and even killing you. Red is your color. All I see is red."
She shook really hard, and she was so cold to touch. Seunghyun scooped her small body in his head.
"I'll take you to Bom,"
Her eyes were closed when he looked at her. He was about to stand up, when he heard a tree branch snap.
He looked around, and realized that he was also missing his Scouter for the first time in a long while.
There was nothing but trees and vegetation and flowers.
The placed looked beautiful, so he didn't even know why he was alarmed.
A silent figure appeared out of between the trees.
Seunghyun could see that even in daylight, the Collectors were deathly pale blue. There were three of them.
He had no weapon. No Scouter to help him. No knife to hold them back.
He put Minzy on the soft ground and tucked her hairs behind her ears before turning to them and picking up the first stone he saw on the floor.
They stood there. Unmoving and evil and dead between the trees.
Monsters with human faces.
One had needles in his skin, the other was made out of several different skins, each differing in color and pattern. Even animal skin, he saw. The third one had claws sewn into his fingers.
He didn't wait for them to attack him but simply threw the stone at the one in the middle with the skins, the two other were going at him in a blink of an eye.
He hit one of them with his elbow square in the face. It made the creature stumble back a bit.
The other was kicked in the shin, and probably because of human reflexes, the creature was in shock so he kicked him again, this time in his stomach and he fall back on the ground.
The second creature with the claws attacked him again, yet he punched it in the gut and sent it fly into some tree.
He won't be able to put up with them for too long, but he was at least hoping to stall them a little, so he could take Minzy away and into safety.
He glanced between hitting one or other of the creatures, and were shocked to find the Collector with the skins leaning over her and reaching a hand at her.
He understood she was a woman once, since the collector had large breasts, and white, long hair.
Seunghyun threw the collector that attacked him at the woman and the two of them rolled around together as he dealt with the one with the nails.
"It's me you want, leave her alone!" He called, but as he did push the collector with the claws out of his way, he understood they were going for Minzy again.
He ran to her and stood by her, panting heavily.
His chest was in little pain, but he didn't care. For some reason, protecting Minzy was his main goal. He didn't know why. He didn't even like the annoying kid with her dumb questions and jokes, but something in her grew on him.
The ones with the nails started pulling the nails out of his skin, and Seunghyun felt disgusted by the noises it made.
He was shocked to find the creature smiling, as he threw the nails at him. He dodged carefully, though one managed to hit his shoulder, but he concentrated on shoving them and pushing them away.
When he managed to make the Collector with the skins fall on the floor, he picked up the biggest stone at his legs and wasted not time to drop it on her head.
He heard the bones crushing and the blood spluttering, and Minzy's pale face was now dotted in red.
For good measure, he also stood up on the stone as he kicked one of the collectors and turned to the other, making sure, she won't be able to stand up soon.
He felt a few nails digging onto his back and turned to the other collector, just when he saw a stick penetrating through the collector's shoulder.
Jiyong pushed the now flailing in pain, blue man onto him.
Seunghyun shook his hand off him, kicking him as far away as from him and Minzy as he could.
"Want to pick a fight, Gentlemen?" Jiyong was smiling, but he looked ill. "Pick on someone your own size, then." The collector with the claws attacked him, but with a blink of an eye, Jiyong's hand went through his throat, just like Dongwook's hand went into his chest, but Jiyong's hand came back and he tore the main artery out of his place. Blood covered him and the trees all around him as he kicked in second move the man's head and it was sent flying to the tree next to Seunghyun's head. He barely ducked in time, standing there, shocked.
The other collector seemed less keen on attacking him, but did so anyway.
Jiyong used his finger to hit his chest, making the man fall on his knees, before gracefully once again just like in the village, placing his hands on the monster's neck and snapping it to his back. He did it so hard, that the skin on the collector's neck had ripped off.
Jiyong spat at the corpse on his legs and wiped his nose and his mouth with the back of his sleeve.
He looked good in blood. Strong.
Seunghyun was mesmerized by him, just like in the first time he met him.
They looked into each other's eyes again, but Jiyong frowned at him and looked down. "If she won't wake up, or be injured in anyway, I'll personally kill you."
"I didn't let them hurt her."
Jiyong picked her up on his hands and smiled as she clutched automatically onto his shirt. "Don't worry, now. I'll take you to safety…"
He turned to leave, but Seunghyun felt like he should at least say something, since he wouldn't be able to keep up with them for long anyway, not with the nails and the claws. "Jiyong… I… Thank you. For coming. I... Don't know what-"
"Don't misunderstand." Jiyong turned to him. "I didn't come back for you," he sneered and added; "If it was you in trouble, I would've let you die. This is what you deserve."
"But I…"
"I only helped because of Minzy. You disgusting fuck, Don't assume anything else."

*
Seunghyun was so angry; he punched a tree until his fingers bled.
He screamed out a few good curses and kicked some stones and scared the shit out of the animals in the forest. He wanted to hit something. Preferably, Jiyong's face. He would hit it until it was swallowed and red and bleeding.
He was surprised to find out that the collectors had soon disappeared into ashes, flying with the winds, and leaving only dried blood behind.
He got the needles out of his skin. They weren't in too deep, and the wounds were superficial.
It was already sun set, when he was starting to recognize the trails just outside his room. He felt dirty and disgusting, and really angry, so he didn't care much, and just made his way through the familiar trees.
He stumbled on the pool, and got his leg wet, so he cursed.
He jerked in surprise, when he saw a body surfacing from the water.
"Seunghyun!" Bom screamed in surprise, but didn't do anything cover her naked body. She had beautiful body, all the curves were in the right place, but it was not what stupefied him in awe.
Her hair, the black one, was thrown next to her clothes.
Long, red locks of perfectly straight hair replaced the black wig.

Yeah. So I'm really sorry. I probably should've written that I'm on hiatus.
It's just that work + study + Infinite + crazy-in-denieal author = hiatus.
