1ST PLACE LIPSYNC '06!!!!!!!!!!
Our dance was completely amazing. Everyone was in sync, our moves were smooth, the energy was pumping, and we were psyched! Performing in front of a 4000 audience wasn't as scary as I thought it would be. I guess because everyone around me was so energetic that the adrenaline drove the fear away. For the first few groups for the ASACC I moved the boxes to the front of the stage in front of everyone. Then when it was my turn to dance it was freakin amazing. For some reason the dance passed so quickly. I can't believe it's over. Practices every Thursday and Sunday and 4 hour practices are over. No more coming back at 1 in the morning, no more hanging out with those people, at least in the same setting. Everyone in the dance, all 102 people, got to bond. The dance and the goal for first place gave us something to share, and everyone just let their guard/front down and met and partied with new people more so than usual.
After the judges announced the third place (Rainbow Center), then the second place winners (African American Center), we were already on our feet and screaming because we knew we had won. The fraternities and sororities were lame in comparison only because they didn't really dance but kicked their legs up in the air and wore slutty clothes. We all rushed onto the stage to claim our trophy in a frenzy of emotion and vigor and wildness and started hugging everyone in our way. When Rosalie ran up to me, she broke my bracelet (the blue and silver one that I really liked) and all the beads scattered, but I didn't care and remember shouting "It's ok. We won! Oh my god we won! Screw the bracelet. We were illmazing!"
I've never been part of anything so big and so successful before, so I guess this experience was huge for me.
Afterwards Melissa, Jie, Mike, Nicole and I went to Jules' place at Orchard Acres for the party. Shwey was hilarious when drunk and kept on saying spindle fibers and pretending to be Gandhi. Drunk people are somehow hilarious, or at least hilariously stupid (stupidly hilarious..), and Clinton was laughing like a retard for 20 minutes straight. I didn't drink, and I'm glad I had Melissa with me. We came back to Shippee at 4, then hung out in James' room till 5. We were so loud, that the people down the hall came down to tell us to shut up, and our door was even closed... oops. There was no shutting up Clinton, Shway, and Jeff, and Melissa and I didn't want to get in trouble so we went back to my room and girl talked till really late.
So that was my day, and damn I wish I had a camera...
o yeah, and we won 1st place for HOMECOMING overall!!!!
