I can't remember if I've ever mentioned it here or not, but I've long had the thought that it would be interesting to make a hockey-themed fighting game. That is, a game that plays like a proper fighting game, but with characters that all look like hockey players. Basically, it's just an extension from the fighting mini-games that all modern hockey games have. If nothing else, it'd make for a good challenge, seeing how much variety one can achieve while working within a specific motif for X number of characters.
After sitting down and trying some hypothetical concept sketches, I still say that it's a good challenge. Not just variety-wise, but also in trying to come up with so many original logos while trying not to accidentally bump into existing trademarks or copyrights.
