Band Camp

I wonder how many of you were dirty minded in reading the topic. ;)

Right now I'm at work in my new job with Alliance Atlantis (just add .com to that to see what they are about). I can't really say what I'm working on except I'm doing Quality Assurance and testing on a new product they are releasing. What I can tell you as well as it involves me playing around on YouTube, Myspace, livejournal, Bebo, chats, etc. Things I normally do at home, I get paid for now. You can hate me now.

Last week, my main machine died - motherboard fried from what I can fathom. I'm of two minds on this event. On one hand, it's going to cost me a pretty penny to upgrade. On the other hand, I get to upgrade. ;) Upgrading my motherboard, video card, and CPU will be better in the long run instead of replacing (4yr old mobo). Of course, upgrading is always fun and will have alot of "wow" factors once I reassemble the guts of my machine. I'm thinking dual video cards integrated with nvidia SLI... mmmmmm. If that's wrong, I never want to be right.

This last weekend was Canadian Turkey day (monday was the long weekend day). I went to Montreal with the Kiwis that have been staying at my place since the beginning of June. They're currently in NYC (train this morning) and will be gone for a few days before coming back to prepare to move to Banff on Oct 17. It was fun having them around and I'll miss the company.

Montreal was a great time had by all. The weather was gorgeous, like a mild summer day, and the city was beautifully european as always. I visited my cousin and his fiance on Sunday and had a potluck lunch. Then after that I head to the ex-gf's parents place to return the last of the stuff that was at my house. Luckily, the ex-gf wasn't around but it was weird in so many ways since they made dinner for me and actually had a b-day cake for me as well. -.-;

Well, I do like her parents and overall it was an ok experience, so I guess it was worth it.
