WHY DOES THE FOX IN ROBIN HOOD MEN IN TIGHTS MAKE DOLPHIN NOISES?!?!? lol

I've been busy in the DVD and video game department lately. Where to start...

- NCIS S6 came out a few weeks ago. Probably my favorite so far, though not the most quotable, but sitll very excellent.

- Fringe S1 came out a couple weeks ago as well. Very strange show but intriguing and interesting at the same time. It's well done and very twisty, so if you like pseudo sciences or just good sci-fi check it out.

- I borrowed Arrested Development S1-3 from my friend and I watched them over the past few weeks. As you may know I have a very low tolerance for stupid people and some of the characters could have been replaced by nails on a chalkboard and you wouldn't have lost any annoyance. It had funny moments but overall I think I'm just dumber for having watched it. The series is done (didn't even have a full third season) but there are reports that a movie is in the works... Oh joy.

- On suggestion from Te-san, I picked up Assassin's Creed for my PS3. Overall the game was fun despite some of the individual missions being very frustrating. I'm particularly referring to the "stealth assassinate 5 guys in 3 minutes" type of missions. Aside from those and a few cheap exposures the game was fun, nothing like crawling around roof types and stabbing people. I don't anticipate picking up AC2 right away once it's released, but who knows?

- I downloaded Wipeout HD on my PS3 a while back and have been playing it sporadically. I had Wipeout for the N64 (I think, maybe it was GCN) and I liked it so I thought I'd try this incarnation and it looks good in HD. Very shiny and the updates are good - a lot more than just a handful of cars and a more involved campaign.

- NHL 10 came out 11 days ago and I've been playing that. I played NHL 09 right up until NHL 10 came out so I'm sure I'll be on and off this one for a while.

- I picked up Wet on the same day as NHL 10 but have yet to play it seeing as how my R2 'broke' while playing Assassin's Creed. The button still works but it's no longer springy and thus hypersensitive. I can play NHL 10 with it but sometimes I accidently pass the puck when I didn't want to, so for now it's just more annoying than obstructive.

- My Aion pre-order came in this week so that game is now fully live in North America. I need to upgrade my PC before I start playing it though. Since I got the collector's edition, I now have a 6" tall hand-painted figurine of an Asmodian Daeva. If there are no objections, next time I visit K&K's I'll be dropping off a new friend for the large collection of figurines. Either that or it sits in the box for all eternity. lol The game itself is pretty good, though I think playing the closed beta events wore on my nerves. I don't like being forced into some arbitrary schedule so only being able to play for a weekend (I have other things I'd rather do on weekends than sit at my computer) every other week was not a selling point for me to vest much time into it. I didn't even play the last two closed beta events, I figured they'd wipe our characters before release anyways so not much point. Once I finish Wet and upgrade my PC I'll probably start playing this for real. Unfortunately when Templar didn't play like I imagined it would, I became a little disenchanted. As with other RPG's I still can't stand to play mage classes (FF11 has been the only exception to this) but the Cleric class is playable for me - though I'm not sure if it's something I want to be my primary class. I do know that I liked playing Asmodian better than Elysion, I think I just prefer fighting Mau over Kraul. Ken has most of the screenshots I took while playing the beta events (there is one batch I never got around to sending).

- I caught up with the Harry Potter movies on DVD (my friends were doing it so I tagged along) before seeing the latest one in theaters. It was the first of the lot that I'd seen in theaters. Still no desire to read the books (I'm still not that into the series) but hopefully the last two movies turn out as good as this one.

- Just last weekend I saw 9. It was good, but could have better - also could have been a lot worse. It was weird but you should expect that seeing as how Tim Burton was involved. If you want to see it, I'd recommend it but if it doesn't look like your thing then seeing it probably won't change your mind. I could do a more thorough review of it but you can get the same substance from elsewhere in the internet and most of them are correct.

In other non-media news, I had a quarter-life crisis in August. I bought a new car (my second in as many years) - a beautiful 2010 Ford Fusion Sport. It purs like a mountain cat. :3 Then I proceeded to overhaul my wardrobe; I don't remember the exact statistics of the trip but it was some odd 750$ worth of clothing which I paid nowhere near that much for it all. I got lucky and pretty much everything was on sale or had some other kind of deal attached to it. Score. That was followed by redecorating both my apartment and my office.

In a strange turn of events this whole episode was followed by a 17% raise at work. This was over double what I was hoping to get - ya know, given the whole economic situation. You'll hear no complaints from me, though.

That's about it for now. Checkin' out~
