Cross-Stitch TARDIS

I absolutely want to knit this amazing piece: www.entropyhouse.com/penwiper/who/knittardis.html but I don't have the yarn (although hopefully I'll get it soon!)

I do, however, have the embroidery floss. Since knitting charts are less square than cross-stitch charts, I decided to try and recreate this pattern but with the right proportions for cross-
