LONDON: 1/15/11 - 1/17/11

Jan 17, 2011 18:00

Three main points I wish to convey.  Sunday, Monday, and Vlad the Annoyer.

Okay, since Sunday was such a WOAHHHHH, I don't think I can manage to condense it into paragraph format.  So here's what me and my friend saw/did yesterday:
  • Had lovely breakfast of milk, eggs, and sausages (all organic things cooked by me...good times.  'Til I realized we had forgotten to buy PAM for the kitchen so scraping the lovely organic stuff off the pan took approx. four years).
  • Went to Buckingham Palace!  The Queen has some weird-ass birds.  Also saw the changing of the guard but those ducks were cool.
  • Saw where a big chunk of Harry Potter was filmed (I can now say I've been to Diagon Alley...and heard a British person who's never seen the movie pronounce it)
  • Got as close as I could to No. 10 (aka where Mr. David Cameron the Prime Minister and probably his dog lives)!
  • Went to Tower of London!  Me and my friend has to use a good deal of self-control to not attempt to steal their emerald-encrusted ceremonial sword (MASSIVE ooh-factor).  Sadly were not allowed to take photos for that part of the tour.
Then today I had my class on the history of the BBC British television.  I got out of class a lot earlier than everyone else so I had time to be lonely.  I did a bit of grocery shopping and homework but that didn't help too much.  So I did what 5-months-ago-Me would have slapped me for not doing: I did a combo of three things that made me feel infinitely better.  I bought my first (and last) pack of cigarettes, turned on an album that always made me wish I were in London, and headed off to see the Thames at night.  I am convinced that is the most beautiful thing to see in the world.

Now some pictures!!!

Oh right Vlad.  Maybe I should save him for another time.  Basically, in a nutshell, he's a Russian who plays either poRnB (a mix of porn and R&B which I have just invented a name for) or Iranian 90s techno.  There have been two times this entire week I have been in the kitchen and neither he, his Indian croney, or some random Ke$ha wannabe he dragged home haven't been in there drinking.  I suppose that's all I'll say now.

Now me and another friend are off for a pint.  Cheers and Muchas Smoochas!
