LONDON: 1/12/11

Jan 12, 2011 23:02

Okay, so to be honest, I didn't know if I was going to post an entry today.  Main reason being, while the sun was up it was mostly terrible.  I lost my keys and was locked out in the rain for a bit, was feeling lonelier than I had ever been in my life (anytime I'm reminded of being 15 is not a good time), no technology was working right, and I couldn't go to this big group event I was looking forward to.

Then.

Right at my low peak, I get these invites.  One friend and I go to have Thai food which was SUPERB!  And cheap.  Then she says she's going home to take a nap and the loneliness kicks in again when all of a sudden this girl I thought was super cool (like that unattainable cool) sends me this really nice text asking if I'm free.  I say yes and we go to a pub together.  We really bonded--we talked about deep stuff and I really feel comfortable with her.  She said she didn't feel like she could talk to any of her classmates, like she was left out--the girl I thought was so popular and cool felt the same way I did?  This gave me hope.  We have tons in common and, she put it nicely: we're weird.  And we consider that a compliment.  I really like her :)

Also, I had my first legal drink(s).  Two Guinesses.  And a Cadbury candy bar.  I have gone from openly sobbing in my room to smiling and nomming candy through laughter-filled lips in a matter of hours.  I must be doing something right to deserve this!

Oh, btw: the song playing during my FIRST BEER whilst I'm also in the UK?
ROCK THE CASBAH.
