Prompto is dying and doesn’t tell anyone.
This was a very real treatment of that kind of death from disease (which is part of why I'm crying haha) but oh man. I don’t wanna spoiler particular moments but I FELT THINGS. The use of Ignis’ POV here was masterful.

As it was, Ignis, looking absolutely debauched, pushed himself off the counter in full view of the half-a-dozen equally-ecstatic men and women he'd been entertaining, yanked Gladio in by the belt, and kissed him right on the mouth.
Adorable and hilarious :) I love Gladio being embarrassed by drunken Iggy’s very public praise, but very into it.

ohmyfae. Cor/Prompto; ~1300 words; light daddy kink, D/s, and bondage; Explicit. Summary: Long ago, Cor cursed his love life to decades of sex-fueled bachelordom. But now with his latest fling, Cor has to admit that some curses aren't so bad.
So hot and so charming! Prompto’s such a fun, slightly bratty sub, and I loved Cor working out how to take proper advantage of Prompto’s praise kink. And I’m a hard sell on daddykink.

Prompto stepped out in front of it without really thinking about whether or not he was able to stop a car with his body. He rolled off the side of the hood. The roar of the retreating engine echoed in his ears, just drowning out the high-pitched whine of sudden tinnitus. Although honestly, the better summary might be in the tags: ‘noct gets noctnapped and then Prompto manages to get hurt about it, which is pretty impressive on his part.’
This is basically standard H/C, but it has a bunch of great lines and characterises the bros and their individual relationships amongst the group really well. It shifts POVs a lot, but not within passages, and uses those shifts nicely. (Sampling of great lines: ‘[Prompto] had this sudden realization that for all his coolness and how smart and shitty he was, Noctis was kind of… like… not designed for the outside world.’ And ‘Ignis wasn’t actively shoving Noctis in the direction of the medical wing but he was radiating a shoving kind of energy’ and ‘Gladio resisted the urge to punch [Ignis] in the shoulder, if only because he never reacted to that the way Gladio wanted.’)

This is a gorgeous slice of kinkfic. Mindblowingly hot -- Ignis completely loses control and Ardyn clearly loves giving him just this side of too much.
Harry Potter fic recs
The Is This It series by
mildredmost; ~43 400 words; extensive discussion of rape and abuse; Explicit. Summary for the first fic: Ron Weasley and Draco Malfoy get trapped in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement during an attack drill. HOWEVER WILL THEY PASS THE TIME?
I’m reccing the whole series because, while the individual fics are all great on their own terms and often pretty different from each other, a lot of the joy here is in seeing how Ron and Draco’s relationship develops. Draco’s pretty fucked up - careful of the tags - thanks to the Death Eaters, and he’s vulnerable and trying his best and bitter and bitchy and nasty and quietly heroic, and Ron’s been in love with Harry forever but ultimately tries to be kind even in the face of Draco’s… everything. It’s absolutely engrossing, and the characterisation’s great.

trobadora. Thirteen/Missy; ~5200 words; Teen. Summary: "Forging blindly ahead is a well-honed strategy of mine," the Doctor admitted wryly. "I can do that any day. Now, forward? That's proven a bit more difficult, you see."
I loved them circling each other in this, and the spoilery thing the Doctor learnt from her wife.

This is impossibly beautiful and sad. Absolutely gorgeous, detailed work with amazing use of colour, and such perfect choices of scenes, both canon and not, to show his life with the Crystal hanging over all of it: the blood smearing under his sandal by Ardyn’s hand, little!Somnus and Ardyn trying to reach a cat or hiding together versus having a clearly horrible fight as adults; perhaps on his deathbed, a wife and child there; and looking so somber and haunted as he wields the Ring and his sword. But omg the WORST is him half-collapsed with the Ring, and staring out at Angelgard!!! Noooooo. I find Somnus terribly tragic, for all his crimes, and. Oh no.
