yeah I dislike a little girl of ten hanging onto her crush and only dating other boys to make her crush jealous, before finally getting together with him because they are so much like his parents *urgs*. I don't like cannon Ginny. My headcanon of her is an entire different story.
I like canon Ginny, although I've also always assumed the other boys were like, maybe 1% about making him jealous and 99% about experimenting and liking them as well. But that's because it fits my understanding of life better :)
I would like to believe that, unfortunately the conversation Ginny has with Harry where she explains that she followed Hermiones advice about letting him see her with others, destroys that belief for me and turn "experimenting" into pure calculation on her part.
Right, I hadn't forgotten that conversation - I just think that assuming that level of calculation from a teenage girl is nuts, particularly since she certainly doesn't say she felt nothing for the other two boys. So sure she says she always found him appealing and wanted him to be jealous, but that doesn't preclude her being genuinely interested in, say, Dean and being more focussed on him during their relationship.
yeah I think this is where our cannon Ginny diverges. I do think she is that manipulative, and calculating. She wanted Harry since she was a little girl and now she had an oportunity to catch him, she used Dean and Michel to achieve that goal.
