Again, super-scattered thoughts and responses. Total disagreement welcome as always!
301 is making me suspicious. There were quite a few male-gazey shots that made me uncomfortable, and now “I have self-diagnoised Asperger's so I can pretty much say whatever I want”.
Wow Kurt is REALLY STRONG - his dangling from that scaffolding was super-impressive. Cool singing too.
Burt is adorable. <3 “You know what they call a unicorn without a horn? A friggin' horse.”
Asian F... um. Wow. Between the 'Asian F' thing and the “spicy curry blood” I am having trouble coping. Please don’t go back to the season 1 place, Glee, you were doing so well.
On the plus side, Idina Menzel is back! YAY ELPHABA! And Puck and Quinn maybe being cute together…
Oh no, Quinn is doing crazy lady things instead of being punk. Boo. Idk, I get that she’s kind of struggling with identity right now and wants someone to love her unconditionally, I can appreciate that, so I’m trying to trust the programme and remember Glee is always turned-up-to-11 and unrealistic - and in a sitcom way, not a musical way. But I could have done without the I MUST HAVE MY BABY crazy-lady-maternal-madness thing.
Oh, Puck. You are my boo, you really are. And she's only part-time. But please not a teacher/student storyline. Please.
LOL that Artie/Bieste conversation about her being a virgin. It's really cute... but I seriously think teaching teenagers has ruined my ability to enjoy uncomplicatedly this kind of teen-drama dynamic. Because if my students tried drawing me out on the subject of my sex life? OH DEAR GOD NO.
LOL. There is nothing as ridiculous on this earth as public schoolboys in blazers singing Uptown Girl. Unless it's public schoolboys in blazers singing Common People. For a second when the boy went “a downtown man, that's what I am” I thought he sang “a Downton man” and yes, that's much more appropriate.
Blaine, don't do it! He is pointy and evil-looking! I haven’t seen someone this visibly evil since Craterface from Grease!
For a second after the “don't you think now's the time to be adventurous?” line from Blaine when the camera was panning down I seriously thought we were going to see a bulge in Kurt's trousers.
BTW, can I just say? Blaine is a ridiculous name. I mean, I know Americans have lots of names that are strange to the British ear but I spent a long time assuming Blaine was a shipname.
Wow, drunk!Blaine is kind of a dick. Not made of creepy or anything, but... yeah, I'm really glad Kurt called him out on that: “I've never felt less like being intimate with someone, and either you can't tell or you just don't care!”
Finn usually kind of bores me, but I really, really felt for him when he was saying he wasn't good enough for a football scholarship or NYADA. That feeling of being special, of being a big fish in a small pond, and then you're not quite clever or good enough for the next level... been there. And his voice breaking on “he didn't like me” was so sad.
The Rachel/Finn and Kurt/Blaine sexing was kind of hilarious in its commitment to soft-focus snuggling with everyone very clothed. But cute.
“You should vote for Kurt Hummel.” RACHEL BERRY, CLASS ACT. <3 And drama queen. <3 First time we've ever seen her give up an ambition. And I love that her ambition hasn't been softened, and that this female character is annoying and abrasive and ambitious but always a sympathetic voice. But also, awwwww brotp!

That production of I Kissed A Girl - all the girls coming together to support Santana, and Santana claiming her sexuality - made that song not deeply annoying to me for once! Yay!
Oh Puck <3 I LOVE YOU PUCK. Also Sam is adorable. I mean, I kind of don’t think his lips are that big so a lot of those jokes are sort of… lost on me. I mean, they’re pouty but he’s not Julia Roberts. But yeah, I love older siblings who are devoted to their siblings and he’s great.

The Summer Loving mini-remake was adorable. Wish it had been full-length. I love that Santana did the bitchy brunette poses and then Kurt got Rizzo's line.

OMFG Karofsky attempting suicide. I wasn't expecting to be hit with that imagery. I mean, I'm glad they addressed the problem - a depressing number of my friends attempted suicide as teenagers - but fucklng hell.
I love Kurt for calling Quinn on what she said - “harsh and reductive” is exactly the phrase. And the combination of public hatred and self-loathing is such an important, horrible factor in why queer teenagers are so much more at risk than their straight brothers and sisters, so yeah. Karofsky makes perfect sense as a suicide risk. :(

And ouch, poor Finn. Poor Kurt. Didn’t get in and don’t know what to do. I FEEL FOR YOU BOYS. And Rachel has actually grown so much, to be able and willing to talk about Finn’s dreams. She is actually able to be a partner to him, even while staying ambitious for herself, and I love it. (Even though I kind of think in this case - she has a big dream and ambition, she’s going to drama school to make it happen - if they INSIST on getting married, he should move to New York with her. Rachel deferring is crazytalk.)
