So, I won't be writing for hd_holidays after all. The mods rescinded my assignment because I've bailed on too many fests. Which is totally fair and my own fault, so I'm not annoyed at all. But of course this being my own fault seems to make it worse rather than better.

I know it's their rules, but it still sucks massively that they included you, then dis-invited you. I would probably throw myself out of a window if it happened to me. (Luckily I do not do H/D and would prolly never even try to get into an exchange that was by lottery because of fear of rejection.)

If I were the mod and messed up by including someone I hadn't meant to, I'd probably just suck it up and let them stay because it was *MY* error. If they fucked up, then at least I'd have the right of it by saying "I gave them a chance and look what happened". I know they had a lot of issues last year with people just dropping out or blowing things off so I'm not surprised they're being super-strict. But still...

Aw, I'm glad I made you smile at least. I swear, this year's fest season is already fraught with serious drama and crazy and signups haven't even started yet. There's been a lot of wank w/r/t to several exchanges, a bunch of others aren't coming back, and everything just is so STRESSFUL this year. :-( I just want people to have some fun, you know?

And hey if you do sign up for KK and bail on us, I promise not to yell at you or anything. Shit happens. ♥

Yeah, sadtimes. :( On the plus side, I suppose if I wanted to join hd_hols_rejects (which I do not at all) people could not really criticise too much ;)

Mmm. After the stress of last year I definitely feel I can't judge. But I won't lie, it's very nice having an experienced mod be all HMPH. :)

DUDE I KNOW. I keep hearing random gossip about exchanges and that, and the whole fact of an hd_hols_rejects comm being created says something.

D'awww. See, part of the reason I was all YAY HOLS I WILL DO IT is that for the first time since I got into fandom, autumn/winter will be a time of 'only working twenty hours a week' rather than a time of 'ALL THE ESSAYS'. So RL had better not even TRY fucking with me. I have time to beat it down!

Is hd_hols_rejects a bitter thing? I thought it was more of a "Well then, we'll make our own fun!" kind of thing.

I think it is a "well then, we'll make our own fun!" thing but said in a slightly huffy tone? Idk. The thing is it upset the mods, using the term 'rejects', and I think some people who didn't get in were also not very happy because they were unlucky, not rejected.

Dunno. Either way it's not really something I'm into, despite a greater claim to rejection than them :)
